SUMMARY

The Domestic Violence/Child Welfare Program Manager is responsible for overseeing Nurture the Next’s crisis prevention and intervention programs, providing technical assistance and consultations to shelters and state agencies focused on preventing and mitigating domestic and family violence.

Job Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with VP of Programs to monitor key performance indicators for DV/DCS partnership contracts
  • Craft and deliver technical assistance and data collection for expanded Domestic Violence/DCS partnerships
  • Provide technical assistance visits to contracted county pilot sites
  • Provide weekly technical assistance/consultation calls for DCS liaison staff members at each contracted pilot agency
  • Provide technical assistance and consultation to contracted pilot agencies Executive Directors as requested
  • Provide technical assistance as requested to DCS Central Office personnel to review/revise policies pertaining to DV exposed children that complement the Safe and Together model
  • Provide weekly technical assistance/consultation calls for DCS liaison staff members at each pilot agency as requested
  • Create and provide TA grant data outcomes to Core Leadership
  • Regularly analyze the statewide landscape to identify opportunities to grow Nurture the Next’s footprint in response to family violence
  • Actively participate in legislative advocacy to increase support for DV and prevention programming
  • Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships to ensure key successes in Nurture the Next’s strategic imperatives as they relate to family violence prevention and response
  • Strengthen evaluation tools to gauge and ensure impact and work with VP of Programs to provide marketable data and outcome to constituents and donors
  • Network and collaborate with local organizations and community leaders
  • Participate in agency leadership by helping inform the strategic planning process, quarterly site visits, staff meetings
  • Follow organizational policies, make recommendations for change, and lead implementation of changes
  • Participate in major fundraising and development events benefitting Nurture the Next, community awareness events that promote the agency and programs, and program activities of the organization no matter the individual role
  • Fulfill the role of other leaders and managers in the organization when the position is vacant or employee is on leave
  • Respect and maintain confidential information in all situations
  • Assist with child abuse prevention month activities
  • Participate and lead ad-hoc committees when appropriate and needed

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to handle multiple projects without close supervision
  • Ability to work with a diverse range of individuals and organizations
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with program customers, supporters and all internal and external resources.
  • Must have excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of social service systems, human development and community skills, social work principles and methods
  • Ability to self-direct daily work tasks and practice effective time management
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate as part of a team
  • Microsoft Office, email, internet; Must be able to meet documentation requirements
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

A Bachelor’s degree in social work, non-profit leadership, public health, or related field preferred; 3-5 years’ experience is social service or non-profit work; previous experience working with DV shelters or with Department of Children’s service preferred; leadership and management experience required

Specific vision abilities required by this job include vision and ability to adjust focus. The employee must have access to reliable transportation. The work environment includes indoor office environments or comparable spaces, and community spaces, with frequent exposure to outdoor weather when traveling. The noise level varies by sites and meetings.

TRAVEL

Occasional out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
