Job Summary
Full-time Associate District Long-Term Care Ombudsman (DLTCO). The DLTCO provides free assistance to elderly Tennesseans residing in nursing homes, homes for the aged, assisted care living facilities, and short-term skilled rehabs.
Job Responsibilities
An Ombudsman is a resident advocate that is available to help residents and their families resolve questions or concerns about resident’s quality of care and life in their long-term care facility. The DLTCO will also provide information and referral services to residents and community members, and mentor volunteers within the program.
Qualifications
The qualifications for the position include: an undergraduate degree from a four-year college or university; the equivalent of three years of full-time work experience with at least two years in aging, long-term care, social services and/or advocacy, or related fields, and pass a criminal background check by national, state and local law enforcement agency. The Associate DLTCO will work under the direction of the Long Term Care Ombudsman Program Director. Must have transportation. Regional travel required.

- Experience and/or education in gerontology or aging programs
- Goal oriented and able to multi-task
- Written and verbal communication skills; ability to establish working relationships with long-term care residents and their families
