Job Summary

The Director of Operations and Finance is a key leadership role responsible for the strategic and operational oversight of NBIC’s support functions, service delivery, and client engagement. This position requires a highly organized and experienced individual with a proven track record in financial management, program administration, human resources, and client relations. The Director will work closely with the CEO and Board of Directors to implement the organizational vision, ensure financial sustainability, and drive operational excellence.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with the CEO and Board of Directors to develop and implement NBIC’s strategic plan, ensuring alignment with the organization’s mission and vision. Contribute to long-term organizational planning and sustainability initiatives.

  • Financial Management: Oversee all financial aspects of NBIC, including budgeting, financial reporting, forecasting, and internal controls. Work with the leadership team to develop and manage departmental budgets. Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and reporting requirements.

  • Operations Management: Manage and oversee NBIC’s operational support functions, including human resources, information technology, and facilities management. Develop and implement efficient and effective operational procedures.

  • Program Management: Oversee all aspects of NBIC’s service delivery, ensuring client needs are met, projects are appropriately staffed and budgeted, and programs are delivered with high quality and impact. Work with department leaders to ensure program effectiveness and consistency.

  • Human Resources: Oversee the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, hiring, onboarding, performance management, professional development, and employee relations. Ensure compliance with all employment laws and regulations.

  • Client Engagement: Participate in client programming in a consulting and/or project management capacity, leveraging expertise to support the success of NBIC’s clients. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.

  • Contract Review: Review and advise on contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and organizational requirements.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field required. Master’s degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive management experience, preferably in a non-profit or small business environment.

  • Minimum of 10 years of program experience with small business ownership preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience in financial management, budgeting, and financial reporting.

  • Strong understanding of human resources principles and practices.

  • Experience in program development, implementation, and evaluation.

  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills (written and verbal).

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and other relevant software.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.

  • Passion for supporting small businesses and entrepreneurs.

Salary includes 2 weeks paid time off and sick time after 1 year

Some flexibility including a hybrid option of in-person and remote work as deemed appropriate and in accordance with the needs of the organization.
