Job Summary

The Director of Operations serves as a strategic partner to the executive leadership (CEO & Board of Directors), ensuring alignment across departments, optimizing the operations team and processes, and driving key initiatives forward. This role enhances organizational efficiency by managing priorities and teams while streamlining communication, and overseeing cross-functional projects to support the mission and vision of Lantern Lane Farm Counseling.

Job Responsibilities

● Strategic Planning & Execution – Initiate the annual strategic planning process with the Board and the CEO to ensure collaborative plan creation, based on organizational priorities, ensuring alignment with long-term goals. Work with the Senior Manager of Finance to develop and manage the annual budget based on the objectives outlined in the strategic plan. Serve as a liaison between leadership and non-clinical staff, fostering collaboration, accountability, and effective decision-making.

● Operational Team Leadership & Project Management – Ensure the smooth and effective functioning of the ministry by overseeing the Operational Team, all aspects of operations, financial health, ministry growth, and sustainability. Create and implement a prayer-filled ongoing project management process that aligns each team members’ quarterly goals with the overall strategic plan and specifically outlines tasks, assignments, deadlines and project calendar dates. Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational efficiency and identify areas for improvement. Hold the team accountable for tasks outlined in the project management system, coordinating across departments to improve workflows, track key initiatives, and enhance overall operational efficiency. Foster a collaborative and supportive team culture. Provide leadership, mentorship, and accountability to the Operations Team. Oversee daily operations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals for the Operations Team.

Develop and implement policies, procedures, and systems to improve efficiency and effectiveness, while keeping a pulse on potential technology improvements to consider.

● HR, Legal & Risk Management – Ensures comprehensive HR strategies, risk management, and legal compliance requirements for nonprofit and clinical operations. Sets and refines Staff Policies in collaboration with CEO and Clinical Director. Managing employee concerns, conflicts, and grievances while promoting positive employee relations, and ensuring fair treatment within the workplace. Develops and administers competitive compensation packages, including salary structures, benefits plans, and performance-based incentives. Establishes performance metrics, ensuring performance reviews are conducted while providing feedback to employees. Ensuring adherence to all applicable employment laws and regulations, including anti-discrimination policies, workplace safety, and data privacy.

● Systems & Process Improvement – Identify and implement process improvements to streamline workflows and eliminate bottlenecks. Utilize data to inform decision-making and identify trends impacting operations. Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with external vendors.

● Facilities & Volunteers – coordinate existing team to cover the following responsibilities and/or design hiring strategy for: oversight of facility operations and maintenance, including grounds, farm, barn, maintenance, animal care, events and service delivery. Also, provides oversight and direction of Volunteer workers and activities, such as day-programs (corporate, church, youth-groups, etc.), events, tours, workdays, etc.

Qualifications

● Minimum 5 years of leadership or operations experience, preferably in a nonprofit setting.

● Background in project management and team building

● Experience working closely with senior leadership in a fast-paced environment.

● Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
