Who we are

Interfaith Dental is a volunteer-driven nonprofit agency that helps vulnerable populations achieve and sustain a healthy smile. Interfaith Dental’s mission is to create a healthier community by providing transformational oral health care for those experiencing poverty.

Interfaith Dental now serves vulnerable populations in two clinic locations within a ten-county region of Middle Tennessee.  Interfaith Dental focuses on life transformation through dentistry offering both access to oral health services as well as education, motivation, and inspiration. 

The role you will play

As Interfaith Dental’s Director of Marketing and Communications, you will lead the agency in the cultivation and telling of stories to share the impact of Interfaith Dental’s mission to grow the clinic’s reach within the community. 

This position gives you the opportunity to:

  • Support the efforts of the strategic plan by writing and producing content that shares the mission of Interfaith Dental and that will lead to its objectives.
  • Be the storyteller through the eyes of the patients we serve.
  • Build brand awareness in the community by finding creative ways to share the mission.
  • Manage the public relations of the agency.
  • Join an inclusive workforce who serves a diverse patient population.

Job Responsibilities

The Director of Marketing and Communications contributes to the success of Interfaith Dental and its impact in the community by participating in a wide range of responsibilities and activities.

  • Creates content for agency’s website, social media, e-newsletters, printed newsletters, press releases, and other marketing materials.
  • Conducts patient interviews and writes stories to be used in all aspects of fundraising and marketing.
  • Serves as a member of the Development team, while maintaining a consistent connection to other departments to ensure their marketing and communications needs are met.
  • Creates and distributes press releases and pitch stories to media outlets.
  • In coordination with clinic professionals, creates the clinic’s patient education collateral.
  • Manages all video content projects for the agency. 


What you will bring

  • Completion of post-secondary coursework in a related field or will consider work equivalent
  • 3+ years of related work experience

Are you someone who:

  • Is passionate about the work that you do?
  • Has a track record of strong customer service skills and the ability to build and maintain successful working relationships with a variety of staff, volunteers, and community partners?
  • Has advanced computer literacy with excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, social media platforms, and proficient with database software (ex. Bloomerang, Canva)?
  • Is flexible and can manage a diverse workload?
  • Is excellent at communicating, both verbally and written?
  • Who has reliable transportation for local travel between our two clinics?
  • Has the ability to flex hours of work (some evenings and weekends based on scheduled events)
