Job Summary
Consistent with the Christian mission and vision of the YMCA of Middle TN, and in cooperation with other YMCA staff, under the direction of the Director of Philanthropy Communications, the Director of Donor Stewardship will oversee the planning and execution of philanthropy events: project management, event budget, logistics, communications, theme/creative, presentations, speaker preparation, follow up, etc. This position will lead donor stewardship and engagement activities including creative donor stewardship, thank you events & celebrations, coordinate site visits/tours, and organize/manage targeted volunteer activities. The Director of Donor Stewardship will manage corporate donor partnerships and sponsorship by assisting in managing the sponsorship strategy to plan for the solicitation of sponsors and timely delivery of sponsor benefits and recognition.
The result of this program will raise the community’s awareness of the YMCA as a compelling charity, deepen the organization’s relationship with current givers, and engage new donors in supporting the cause.
Job Responsibilities

- Model and put into practice behavior that supports inclusion and diversity
- Manage all major philanthropy events and trainings helping with event coordination, volunteer support, and presentations
- Work with the Major Gifts Team to implement engagement strategies and customized stewardship plans with major donors and corporate partners
- Work with the philanthropy team to identify and solicit corporate sponsors and manage the process for implementing deliverables
- Set up and manage targeted volunteer activities for corporate partners
- Provide support for awareness tours/site visits including scheduling, logistical planning, staff tour preparation/training, and creativity to ensure a fun and impactful tour experience
- Support implementation of donor recognition strategies
- Ensure accurate tracking of donor relationship activities in Raisers Edge
Qualifications

An enthusiastic personality with the desire to serve members, volunteers, guests, participants, and staff to create a culture of service within our organization
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
- Must present a professional image possess conflict resolution skills, and demonstrate sound judgment and initiative
- Must be highly organized with the ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Experience with fundraising and sponsorships is preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, experience with, and understanding of related fundraising software management programs (Blackbaud and Raisers Edge) preferred
- Multilingual a plus
