Job Summary
Development Director: This position of considerable responsibility and authority reports directly to the CEO and will drive exponential growth through successful partnerships with key stakeholders executed at a strategic and tactical level. The Director strategizes, leads, and executes all aspects of sustainable SRN Development.
Mission: Senior Ride Nashville enriches the lives of older adults in metro Nashville by providing affordable and assisted transportation.
Summary and Responsibilities: The Director of Development is determined, collaborative, creative, and systematic in their commitment to lead all development to support all present programs and program expansion.
Job Responsibilities
- Successfully engage potential and present donors and community and corporate leaders, to directly solicit funds
- Find and build new key partnerships with stakeholders to raise awareness and increase funding streams
- Create and execute effective fundraising and community events
- Strategize, shape, and finalize a 3-year Strategic Development plan to support 3-year program expansion plan
- Lead and execute all initiatives and activities to support the Strategic Development Plan, inclusive of Donor Engagement plans, Direct Mail appeals, Online Giving Campaigns, and Sponsorship recruitment
- Participate in the Finance, Development, and Audit committee of the Board, contributing to annual budget preparation
- Work closely with the Communication Manager for social media, publicity, and marketing to promote all Development activities
- Manage all aspects of the SRN grant portfolio, including prospect research and writing grant proposals and reports
- Contribute to organizational leadership by meeting weekly as a member of the Executive Leadership Team
- Oversee any development and marketing-related contract positions, including event, grant, and marketing contract roles as needed
- Manage and maintain the CRM database
- Publish annual report for donors and Board
Qualifications
Preferred Background:
- A college degree from an accredited institution
- A minimum of 5 years of nonprofit development experience, with an emphasis on new donor/partnership development with a high level of knowledge of other functions: fundraising, donor engagement, events, grants, marketing, and communications
- Proficient in at least one CRM
Skills and Preferences:
- Strong relational abilities and high EQ
- Successful track record in meeting fundraising goals
- Strong initiative and problem-solving skills
- Computer database and above-average software experience and skills
- Excellent team player
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills + ability to give public presentations
- Proven ability to stay organized
- Experience evaluating the effectiveness of development operations
- Passion for service and compassion for seniors
Job type and work hours:
- Full-time
- Monday-Friday; 40 hours per week; office hours are 8:30 am-5:00 pm. Occasional weekend and evening hours are required.
- This position reports to the CEO
- The Director of Development must pass criminal and driver background screenings

Compensation & Benefits
Starting annual salary is $68,000-$78,000, commensurate with experience. SRN offers a benefits package for full-time employees including:
