Job Summary
Development Director: The Director of Development joins an engaged and committed team in a time of significant growth in our mission of enriching the lives of older adults in metro Nashville by providing affordable and assisted transportation. The Director strategizes, leads, and executes all aspects of sustainable SRN Development, including individual and corporate outreach, grants, fundraising campaigns and events, and marketing.
Summary and Responsibilities: The Director of Development is determined, collaborative, creative, and systematic in their commitment to building new community partnerships and leading all development to support the expansion of ride programs. Reporting to the CEO, the Director will work together with the Board and Executive Leadership team to lead all Development and Marketing plans and initiatives to meet exciting and ambitious goals.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead strategy and execution of a 3-year strategic Development plan to support goals set by the CEO and Board of Directors
- Identify and build new partnerships with individual donors, corporations, and government agencies to raise awareness and increase funding streams
- Spend an estimated 35% of time meeting with potential and present donors and community and corporate leaders, including directly soliciting funds
- Create new donor engagement plan for increased engagement, recognition, and sustained relationship
- Create, schedule, and lead direct mail appeal, with evaluation to adjust as needed
- Create and lead annual online giving campaigns, with evaluation to adjust as needed
- Manage all aspects of SRN grant portfolio, including prospect research and writing grant proposals and reports
- Manage fundraising and community events, working with CEO, to establish new events
- Develop innovative concepts and ideas that deliver value to community partners and lead to fundraising partnership activation
- Oversee the CRM database management and maintenance and serve as primary contact for Guidestar, GivingMatters and other online profiles to ensure consistency and accuracy
- Coordinate media/public announcements and promotional activities for fundraising events and campaigns
Qualifications
Preferred Background:
- A college degree from an accredited institution
- A minimum of 5 years of nonprofit development experience, including demonstrated new donor/partnership development
- Proficient in at least one CRM
- A minimum of five years of experience directly related to essential development functions of the position (fundraising, partnership development, events, grants, marketing, and communications)
Skills and Preferences:

- Demonstrable organizational skills
- Successful track record in fundraising/development and partnership cultivation
- Passion for service and compassion for seniors
- Computer database and other software experience and skills
- Strong initiative and problem-solving skills

Additional Information
Benefits
Starting annual salary is $68,000-$78,000, commensurate with experience. SRN offers a benefits package for full-time employees including:
