Job Summary

NASHVILLE CHILDREN’S THEATRE (NCT) seeks an innovative, strategy-driven, and highly collaborative Director of Development to lead their fundraising. Reporting to the Executive Artistic Director as a critical member of the senior leadership team, this individual will drive institutional fundraising strategy and be responsible for cultivation and stewardship of individual, corporate, and foundation donors, as well as comprehensive oversight of the Special Events department. This front-facing position works closely with the Executive artistic Director, the Board of Trustees, and staff.

Job Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, and evaluate development strategies and activities to ensure successful contributed revenue efforts in the areas of foundation, corporate, and individual giving.
  • Reporting on goal and targets
  • Attend Board Meetings and Committee Meetings
  • Manage the program for identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of existing and prospective individuals, businesses and other major donors as it relates to NCT’s current major giving campaign. Includes direct mail solicitations, newsletters, phone, and face-to-face cultivation. 
  • Support the planning and execution of benefit events through effective delegation of and communication with key staff and volunteer committees.
  • Promote the mission and programs of NCT through the development of presentations for support and advocacy in the community.
  • Works to ensure harmonious working atmosphere with the education, production, administrative staffs of the theatre
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Executive Artistic Director.

Qualifications

  • At least five years professional experience; supervisory experience
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and writing skills
  • Demonstrated success implementing strategies for seeking, obtaining, and stewarding major gifts
  • Ability to develop and manage budget to achieve desired results
  • Knowledge of and enthusiasm for theater and arts education
  • Eagerness to be an active and meaningful contributor to NCT’s ongoing work around nurturing a culture of belonging rooted in equity, diversity, and inclusion

Benefits

Salary for this full-time, exempt, in-person position is commensurate with experience and $60-70k  with health and dental benefits, opt in vision and 403(b)benefits, and paid time off.

This full-time, salaried, exempt position (40+ hours per week) will report directly to the Executive Artistic Director. Start Date June-July 2022.
