Job Summary
Description
SUMMARY
Responsible for the development and management of a comprehensive fund development program for the agency, including endowment, annual drives, major gifts, planned giving, special events, and grantsmanship. Also responsible for marketing and directing community relations activities to increase awareness and utilization of Alive Hospice services, and to identify the need for new Program Development.
Job Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plans, implements, coordinates, supervises, monitors, and evaluates all programs related to the Sr. Director of Advancement.
- Manages successful multifaceted fund development program.
- Directs special endowment, capital, or planned giving emphasis or campaigns.
- Supports the grant research, proposal development, program compliance, and reporting processes.
- Represents agency as appropriate and performs other duties as assigned by the Sr. Director of Advancement.
- Provides monthly progress reports to the Sr. Director of Advancement
- Collaborates with the Sr. Director of Advancement and Marketing to establish and monitor effective public relations plans to increase the visibility of the agency.
- Participates in community education programs, professional organizations, and legislative activity.
- Maintains and develops knowledge of evolving hospice and palliative care philosophy and practices.
- Identifies and assesses community needs as they relate to the Alive Hospice philosophy and mission and ensures concomitant funding methods, to address the respective needs.
- Identifies strategic growth goals and develops plans and programs to enhance the community’s awareness of Alive Hospice while increasing market share.
- Other duties may also be assigned.
OVERALL
- Complete annual training in a timely manner, no later than companywide deadlines.
- Provide input and/or direction to Human Resources policies and procedures and the performance appraisal and incentive programs to ensure that improper conduct is discouraged and that support of and conformity with the Compliance Program is part of any performance evaluation process for all employees.
- Participates through preparation, report writing, presentation, and presence at Board and Board committee meetings at the request of the Board and/or the President/CEO.
- Maintains and develops knowledge of evolving hospice and palliative care philosophy and practices.
- Develop protocols and algorithms for process management in conjunction with other directors as needed.
- Other duties may also be assigned.
Qualifications
Requirements
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university; two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated initiative and ability to manage multiple priorities. Demonstrated oral and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with volunteer Board and Committee members. Endowment development and grant writing experience are highly desirable. Excellent organizational and strategic planning skills.
