Job Summary

Position Summary:

The primary responsibility of the Director of Accounting is to further the mission of Faith Family Medical Center by assisting the CFO with preparing financial documents, maintaining financial records, and ensuring that all financial information is reported accurately, timely, efficiently, and in accordance with GAAP. The person in this position also prepares financial reports such as the balance sheet, profit and loss statements, and other reports to summarize the organization’s current and/or projected financial position. This position reports to the CFO.

Job Responsibilities

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist CFO with monthly and year to date financial statements for the Finance Committee and the Board of Directors
  • Prepare monthly bank account reconciliations
  • Maintain and reconcile balance sheet account schedules
  • Maintain the general ledger
  • Supports CFO in ensuring that financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures
  • Prepare monthly journal entries
  • Assist CFO in tracking the company’s fixed assets
  • Monitor cash flow to anticipate needs for cash transfers or funds from reserve
  • Manage and coordinate the bi-weekly payroll process
  • Perform the accounts payable process
  • Maintain the patient accounts receivables
  • Prepare annual 1099’s
  • Timely submission of invoices for reimbursement from grantors and partner organizations
  • Work with the Development team, COO and the CFO to provide requested financial information and reports for grants and outside organizations
  • Assist in the annual budget process
  • Assist in the annual financial statement audit
  • Prepare/coordinate all necessary documents for grant-related audits
  • Maintain the organization’s Policies & Procedures
  • Record donor contributions in QuickBooks
  • Coordinate the quarterly Safety Net Reporting process
  • Prepare annual state filings
  • Analyze a variety of financial information for the purpose of providing direction, support, and guidance
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

Required:

  • BS in Accounting or Finance with 3-5 years of experience in accounting
  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a non-profit agency
  • Knowledge of restricted grant tracking/reporting
  • Budgeting experience
  • High level of competency with Excel and QuickBooks Online
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Desired Education:

  • CPA
