Job Summary
Mercy Multiplied, a Christian residential home for women, comprised of four U.S. homes, has an immediate opening for a Director of Accounting at our corporate office located in Nashville, Tennessee.
Mercy Multiplied is dedicated to help young women break free from life-controlling behaviors and situations, including eating disorders, self-harm, drug and alcohol addictions, unplanned pregnancy, depression, sexual abuse, and sex trafficking. Our program is voluntary, biblically-based, and free of charge to young women ages 13 to 32. It uses proven methods, lasts approximately six months, and features a multi-dimensional approach to heal body, mind, and spirit.
Job Responsibilities
Summary of Responsibilities:
• Responsible for compliance and regulatory issues pertaining to the financing activities of the organization and reporting deviation to appropriate parties
• Protect assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls
• Lead the organizations’ accounting team including appropriate staff development
• Prepare ministry financial statements, ensuring timely financial preparation including monthly financial information, departmental report preparations, bank account reconciliations and ad hoc reporting as requested
• Manage the annual budget preparation project including training and assistance to managers and reporting of allocated costs
• Manage Audit, 990 preparations, and quarterly sales tax filings including the management of external relationship with CPA firm
• Develop, enhance, and implement internal policies, procedures and controls for accounting and finance to enhance overall Ministry workflow
• Supervise accounts payable function, ensuring accounts payable transactions are compliant with company policies and procedures
• Supervise payroll processing function, including salary reporting for accuracy and timeliness
• Oversee the filing of all state and federal reporting, including state solicitation filings
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance plus professional certifications (CPA, CCM, CTP, etc.) or graduate degree in business, accounting, or finance.
Skills: Ability to supervise accounting functions, review financial transactions, analyze financial data, and prepare financial statements.
