Job Summary

The Digital Marketing Specialist maintains West End Community Church’s online engagement across multiple platforms by curating and posting creative, relevant, and strategic content. Working with all departments, this position will manage an online presence that is positive, engaging, and accurately reflects the vision and direction of church leadership. Through creative execution of top marketing strategies and emerging trends, the Digital Marketing Specialist is a valuable online voice that engages and encourages church members, while also expanding the brand of the church into the greater community.

Reports to: Director of Communications

Job Responsibilities

Collaborative and Shared Services

  • Collaborate with stakeholders on communication strategy and use of multiple online platforms
  • Create content and marketing collateral to support current and new initiatives
  • Create a social media agenda that drives discovery, awareness, and engagement
  • Manage website updates and monitor content needs
  • Manage email, digital and social media, while employing a metric-driven approach to tracking and reporting on audience engagement

Creative

  • Create digital media content that capitalizes on spontaneous moments and developing needs
  • Utilize photography and video resources to story tell and support the visual identity of the church

Qualifications

Basic Requirements

  • Engaged and active membership at West End Community Church
  • Maintains a cooperative team spirit and flexibility to work with other staff and key volunteer leaders
  • Must have strong attention to detail • Should be an initiator, able to manage and execute projects
  • Exhibits personal integrity and self-motivation, including the ability to juggle assignments while maintaining a high level of quality, organization and detail
  • Experience with creating, scheduling, and implementing a consistent online voice across multiple platforms
  • Creative writing experience
  • Extremely knowledgeable in social media sites, platforms, and mobile apps
  • Extremely knowledgeable on best practices across social media platforms
  • Experience in social media analytics
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Bonus: Experience with WordPress
  • Bonus: Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign or Photoshop)
