About CYMT: Established in 2006, the Center for Youth Ministry Training invests in youth by equipping youth ministers, and communities of faith, to develop innovative, effective, and theologically informed ministries so youth may experience the love and grace of Jesus Christ.  CYMT partners with Austin Seminary to provide the largest graduate program in youth ministry in the country. Our Innovation Lab and Theology Together Initiatives are proactively engaging ministries and youth in life-changing theological practices to meet the needs of youth today.

Job Objective: Works with the Strategic Marketing Director to provide support to CYMT’s external and internal marketing strategies, communications, and public relations activities.  

Supervision: The Digital Communications Coordinator reports to the Strategic Marketing Director.

Hours:  Full-time (40 hours)

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage all CYMT social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and Pinterest
    • Tracks web and social media analytics and develops reports for the Strategic Marketing Director 
    • Manages the posting of all content. Can work with social media scheduling software to schedule content in advance.
    • Regularly researches best social media and digital marketing practices, stays on top of trends and updates, can discern what practices work best for CYMT audiences and our platforms.
  • Develop consistent content from CYMT Community stories for multiple platforms including social media, website, digital advertising, email marketing, print collateral, and more.
    • Copywriting for captions and content. Must be willing to reach out to individuals for personal stories of impact. Must be a skilled copywriter.
    • Help develop and manage content plan that stays 3 months ahead of production
    • Can help with gathering photos for stories and content production
  • Helps develop digital communication strategies that share the story of CYMT with partner churches, residents, staff, and Fellows including:
    • Social Media campaigns
    • Researching and writing stories for distribution
    • Press releases
  • Manage routine website upkeep
    • Regular copy changes or page edits
    • Inputting articles, photos, etc.

Qualifications

Be a digital storyteller who can speak to multiple audiences within the youth ministry community and CYMT’s donor community. Have an eye for design and layout. Graphic design expertise is not required but experience is a plus. Understand the importance of maintaining a consistent brand voice to engage existing and new audiences.

Be a self-starter and highly motivated individual who can manage multiple projects simultaneously. Must have excellent time management and organization skills, and produce at a high-capacity. 

Be both creative and analytical. Must be able to bring new ideas to the marketing team and can think outside the box when it comes to media campaigns and content development. Must also be comfortable with data-based research and analytic software to best advance CYMT’s digital marketing practices.

Candidates must have a degree in journalism, marketing, communications, or similar field. 

Must be proficient in social media platforms. Experience in WordPress is a plus.

Knowledge of HubSpot, Emma, or Mailchimp, and Adobe Creative Suite is a plus but not required.

Desired candidates will work in our CYMT offices in Brentwood, TN, but candidates with exceptional expereince and qualificaitons outside of the area will be considered for remote work.
