OBJECTIVE

The Manager of Membership Development is a personable and outcome-oriented individual who employs interaction as their primary tool, along with exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills to comfortably align the case for support to a portfolio of individuals.  Under direct supervision to the Director of Leadership Giving, the individual will help plan, and execute all aspects of identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of current donors to help build a sustainable and manageable portfolio.

The Manager of Membership Development will also help support and plan fundraising events including but not limited to, Family Day, Annual Gala, and Tele-fundraising.

 Manages and helps build a robust TPAC membership giving program.

Job Responsibilities

Donor Relations:

 

 Establishes and ensures timely solicitation for annual giving and working to increase membership to advance engagement for donor lounge opportunities and changes.

 

Solicits, cultivates, and stewards membership donors under the $2500 level, working to advance donors to the $10,000 major giving level.

 

Actively enters plans, steps, and communication in Tessitura to document and track solicitation efforts and results in a timely manner.  Works with Director of Leadership Giving to create prospecting strategies to build donor pipelines to become major donor.

 

Responsible for donor related tasks for the PNC Bank Donor Lounge including creating donor lists for each performance, tracking attendance, and updating donors on status of their passes, assisting with volunteer training of lounge scanner and check in process, etc.

 

Participates in biweekly review of portfolio with Directors of Leadership Giving to give regular updates on gift projections.

 

Oversee and strategize phone solicitation of annual giving and/or memberships.   Organizing inaugural Tele-fundraising.

 

Tracks, assesses, and reports major donor opportunities to Director of Leadership Giving to continue to build a robust portfolio.

 

Represents TPAC in the community while also actively visible at TPAC special events and in the Donor Lounge at TPAC performances, especially during Broadway and new series offerings, including dance, theater, and family programming.   Attendance at evening and weekend functions is expected on rotation.

 

Event Responsibilities:

 

Coordinate the implementation of event invitations, promotional materials, and event timelines within and outside of TPAC.

 

Works cohesively with other departments within TPAC to ensure proper implementation of development events i.e., promotion, advertising, operation, evaluation, and debrief.

 

Works specifically with the Senior Manager of Development Operations to ensure all budgetary items are documented, implemented, and accounted for.

 

Manages departmental special events calendar and has awareness of the Greater Nashville events timeline/calendar.

 

Provides continuous research of new vendor and venues and staying up to date with trends.

 

Helps in executing logistics for donor engagement events including but not limited to Annual Gala, Family Day, donor engagement events, partnership luncheon, and donor lounge.

 

Liaison within TPAC to vendors and event relationships making sure we are communicating well within the TPAC team.

 

Acts as an ambassador of TPAC at events both internally and externally.

 

In partnership with TPAC’s event services team, trains and supervises volunteers to ensure events flow smoothly. Creates comprehensive special events training resources for staff, including documents, schedules group trainings pre-event, and individual trainings for specific event-related tasks as needed.

 

Liaison with event co-chairs: securing vendors including event planners, point of contact for events overseeing the logistics of events, ensuring timelines are met, and being point of internal management of events. Attending all committee meetings related to event planning and debriefing.

 

The responsibilities listed above are not all inclusive. Other related duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

3+ years of front-line, verifiable annual giving experience within the non-profit sector.

 

Capital prospecting and cultivation experience.

 

Strong interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills that demonstrate leadership, tact, diplomacy, attention to detail, creativity, and cultural sensitivity.

 

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

 

Relentless responsiveness to donors.

 

Experience planning, implementing, and executing fundraising events.

 

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience is required.
