Job Summary
JOB OVERVIEW
The Development Manager is responsible for ensuring that Mission Eurasia develops and maintains a broad, deep, and sustainable base of support from individuals, churches, corporations, and foundations to ensure the long-term sustainability of our ministry and programs. This role will include both strategy and plan development and direct, personalized relationships with donors. This position reports to the President.
Who We Are: Reverend Peter and Anita Deyneka founded Mission Eurasia (formerly called Peter Deyneka Russian Ministries and then Russian Ministries) in 1991 just after the collapse of the Soviet Union to react quickly and decisively to new opportunities for evangelism and church-planting.
Today, under the leadership of Sergey Rakhuba, Mission Eurasia and its in-country affiliate Mission Eurasia Field Ministries work in 13 countries of Eurasia and Israel to train, equip, and mobilize the Next Generation of Christian leaders to transform their nations for Christ through strategic, holistic ministry.
Mission Eurasia’s vision is to evangelize, train, equip, and mobilize the Next Generation in Eurasia and Israel to lead the church in transforming their nations for Christ. We have initiatives for: leadership training, Scripture and Christian literature, children’s ministries, humanitarian outreach, unreached people groups, and religious freedom.
Job Responsibilities
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaboratively develop and implement the Development plan that will generate financial support from current and potential individual, church, foundation, and corporate donors.
- Within an assigned portfolio of current and potential donors, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors to raise an increasing level of financial support and ensure their long-term support of Mission Eurasia; develop and implement personalized engagement plans for each assigned donor.
- Support and equip Mission Eurasia board and staff leadership to engage in and support fundraising efforts including cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding individual donor relationships.
- Formulate and manage annual fund-raising budget, measure performance to budget, and prepare reports.
- Nurture a culture of stewardship throughout Mission Eurasia.
- Work with the communication and publications team to create engaging, cohesive development collateral and donor cultivation pieces.
- Manage donor-related events including oversight of vision trips and events.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree plus three or more years of progressive work responsibility in nonprofit fundraising or sales.
- Formal fundraising certification such as CFRE, FAHP, or equivalent non-certified training is preferred but not required.
- Able to work independently and apply an entrepreneurial approach.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to a diverse group of internal and external audiences.
- Willingness and ability to travel locally, nationally, and internationally and to work non-traditional hours.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Able to establish trust and work collaboratively with Mission Eurasia constituents, stakeholders, donors, staff, and board members.
- Be in agreement with Mission Eurasia’s Statement of Faith and Lifestyle Expectations and submit a statement of personal faith.
