Organization Summary: 4:13 Strong is a faith-based non-profit organization based in Nashville, Tennessee that empowers young men to transform their lives so that they can succeed personally and professionally. Our residential program provides a holistic approach to foster social, emotional, and spiritual growth and takes approximately six to eight months for a participant to complete.

Job Summary: The 4:13 Strong Development Director is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy for the organization. The Development Director is responsible for directing all fundraising events and activities, cultivating donor relationships, and engaging with the community to raise awareness of 4:13 Strong programs and services. The Development Director will work closely with the Executive Director and the Board of Directors in coordinating these activities.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Maintain donor database with timely acknowledgment of donations and annual distribution of tax receipts.
  • Create an annual development plan with the 4:13 Strong and Board that includes targeted goals, methods, and outcomes.
  • Develop long-term relationships with corporations, businesses, individuals, congregations, court personnel, and community leaders to raise awareness of 4:13 Strong in support of fundraising goals.
  • Plan, developed and implemented a variety of fundraising activities and programs, including but not limited to annual fundraising campaign events, major gift solicitation, grant preparation, corporate donations, corporate sponsorships, and in-kind gift solicitations.
  • Participate in all 4:13 Strong fundraising development and event planning committees and meetings.
  • Research and prepare grant applications as appropriate. Remain compliant and current with all grant submission and performance reporting deadlines.
  • Work with the 4:13 Strong staff and board on public relations opportunities and create content for in-person solicitations and presentations.
  • Prepare all promotional material and direct mailing pieces.
  • Manage all aspects of the 4:13 Strong website and social networking profiles.
  • Prepare and distribute e-mail newsletter.
  • Work with other staff on financial matters to include check writing, bank reconciliation, and reporting in compliance with board policy.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be someone who is passionate about Christian ministry. He/She will have a bachelor’s degree or higher, commensurate education/experience, and experience working as part of a diverse team.  The candidate will also have the following skills:

  • The successful candidate must believe in the core values of 4:13 Strong and be driven by the mission.
  • Excellent time management skills, public speaking skills, problem-solving skills, and both verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments and priorities.
  • Personal Computer skills (Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
