Job Summary
Position title: Development Associate
The Development Associate (DA) is responsible for all donor database management gift processing, and donor communications. The DA will work as part of a team to plan and implement advancement initiatives and fundraising events. Advancement Department activities and CEO-initiated projects are the top priority.
Job Responsibilities
- Fundraising, Donor Relations, Database Management, Social and Digital Media Management, and Agency Meeting Coordination.
- Maintain comprehensive donor database, including donor and gift records. F&CS uses the Donor Perfect database.
- Ensure timely acknowledgment letters (within 72 hours of gift receipt) are produced and sent to donors.
- Reconcile charitable gifts with the Finance Department monthly.
- Assist CAO with all donor communications, including annual appeal letters, annual reports, newsletters, brochures, and other printed and digital mailings.
- Assist CAO with all fundraising campaigns and initiatives.
- Assist the CEO and CAO with project management and coordination for individual projects and events as needed.
- Participate as an active member of the agency Events Team by maintaining event reports, timelines, and guest lists. Assist with event communications. Participate in the planning and execution of event logistics.
- Provide meeting planning and coordination support for the board, board committees, donor, departmental, and other agency meetings including creating, printing, and organizing materials, setting up rooms, ordering meals, taking meeting notes, and sending notifications to attendees.
- F&CS works with a marcomm consultant, a web designer, and a graphic designer. Except for active management of social media and email platforms, this position would play primarily a coordination role in the following:
- Work with the CEO and CAO to update and manage a digital media strategy, as part of the agency’s overall marketing, public relations, and advertising strategy.
- Coordinate the content and operations of all digital and social media platforms and products.
- Create media content to complement all fundraising campaigns.
- Support the agency as a whole and programs specifically in achieving their marketing, public relations, and advertising strategies. This will include content management, creation, and management of relevant contractors.
- Ensure all marketing assets including images, logos, videos, documents, and other marketing-related content are organized and archived.
- Monitor social media trends; implement new strategies as needed across platforms.
- Manage the agency website: Coordinate with contracted web designers as needed.
- Collect and manage photo and video content and graphic updates for social platforms.
- Regular attendance and reliable transportation are required.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of at least two years of professional experience is required. Nonprofit experience preferred, but not required. Two or more years of demonstrated professional fundraising experience (in any capacity) may substitute for the degree requirement.
