ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION
The Parthenon and Centennial Park have been essential parts of Nashville’s fabric for more than a century. Over 3 million people visit the Park and Parthenon annually, and as a 501(c)(3)nonprofit support organization working in partnership with Metro Parks, Centennial Park Conservancy (CPC) is committed to our mission of preserving, enhancing, and sharing these Nashville treasures to serve current and future generations. The organization is responsible for a variety of initiatives focused on caring for the Park and maintaining its vibrancy. Centennial Park Conservancy has several areas of focus, including:
- The Parthenon – a full-scale replica of the Grecian monument that operates as an engaging museum, presenting humanities exhibitions and educational programming for over 300,000 visitors annually.
- Musicians Corner – an outdoor music series attended by 75,000 people annually that presents free, diverse, and accessible live music for people of all ages and socio-economic groups.
- Kidsville – an educational program that serves over 30,000 children (ages 2-12) annually and provides free activities in the Parthenon, Park, and Metro Parks Community Centers across the city.
- Nashville Earth Day – the city’s official event celebrating, protecting our environment, and creating positive change through the funding of environmental projects across our city.
- Centennial Park Revitalization – a multi-decade partnership with Metro Parks to preserve and transform Nashville’s central park to serve current and future generations; achieved through capital improvement projects, the Centennial Park Maintenance Fund, and Parthenon Preservation Fund
ABOUT THE POSITION
The Design & Content Coordinator is responsible for supporting Centennial Park Conservancy’s marketing and communication strategy, creating and adapting creative visual assets to uphold and expand our brands, and distributing these assets across our various platforms (social, email, web, etc.).
Working collaboratively with CPC’s Senior Director of Marketing and communications and staff, the Design and Content Coordinator supports the organization’s marketing and communication efforts across traditional and digital channels.
This role will support the entire organization and their work will receive creative direction and input. The ideal candidate can accept constructive feedback on their work with positivity and an eagerness for implementation.
Job Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Design & Content Coordinator will have the following primary responsibilities:
- GRAPHIC DESIGN:
- Interpret, apply, and expand visual brand guidelines to design engaging marketing assets across digital and print executions. Assets include logos, print ads, brochures, guides, postcards, posters, event banners & signage, tents, event programs, invitations, digital display ads, yard signs, billboards, social graphics, etc.
- Has the ability to create alluring original concepts and design executions.
- Possesses a keen eye for clean, balanced, elegant design best practices, and text layout, and is able to interpret and explore the visual differences between our brands in order to grow our aesthetic to appeal to diverse audiences.
- Collaborate with external graphic designers and vendors as needed.
- Deep experience with Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop is required.
- SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGEMENT:
- Manage social media channels for CPC, including Musicians Corner, Kidsville, Nashville Earth Day, and the Parthenon on Instagram, Facebook, X, and LinkedIn. To include collaboration/management of content calendar, content development including copywriting and design, content delivery, promoted posts, and follower engagement.
- Actively monitor social media engagement, messages, and comments and facilitate interactions.
- Provide reporting on social media engagement, reach, and growth
- Video creation and digital advertising experience a plus
- EMAIL AND PRINT NEWSLETTER MANAGEMENT:
- Design, write, and send CPC, Musicians Corner, Kidsville, and Nashville Earth Day email newsletters, Help maintain and grow email databases.
- Provide ongoing reporting on email engagement, reach, and growth.
- SalesForce Pardot experience is a plus
- GENERAL ORGANIZATIONAL SUPPORT:
- WEBSITE:
- Assist with content creation and management for five websites
- Ensure websites are a positive reflection of CPC’s brands, and content/calendars are updated with timely and accurate information
- Support website redesigns and the creation of additional sites
- Squarespace familiarity is a plus
- FUNDRAISING & PARTNER:
- Support integrated marketing campaigns for fundraising across several traditional and digital channels to support our fundraising and awareness efforts (collaterals, graphics, etc.)
- Support sponsorship with logo representation deliverables graphic development of partner pitch decks, and fulfillment of photo recaps
- WEBSITE:
- (ADDITIONAL SKILLS CONSIDERED A PLUS) PHOTO AND VIDEO:
- Ability to shoot photos and videos with an understanding of artistic and professional best practices and can edit photos/videos into reels, stories, etc.
- Support the management of event photographers and videographers.
- Collaborate on managing a shared and organized online catalog of assets.

QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will possess most of the following qualifications:
- Undergraduate and/or graduate degree in graphic design, marketing, communications, or equivalent experience
- 1-4+ years of proven marketing and/or graphic design expertise, including exposure to and familiarity with marketing principles and channels; social media, website, and email newsletter
- Graphic design experience with demonstrated creativity and a strong eye for design; ability to work effectively in Adobe Creative Suite
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including copywriting, editing, and proofreading.
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail
- Highly organized with an ability to prioritize, and manage multiple projects and campaigns simultaneously in a time-sensitive environment with numerous internal stakeholders.
- Strong critical and creative thinking to drive effective results.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to utilize data to make informed decisions.
- Proactive, self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to maintain a self-directed schedule.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment.
- Professional, courteous, cooperative, and positive in interactions with colleagues, partners, stakeholders, and others
- A collaborative individual who works with multiple internal and external partners to achieve mutual goals and deliver results in a timely manner.
- Committed to maintaining the integrity of confidential communications and/or activities.
- Strong knowledge of computers, including Apple programs, Microsoft Office, and Google Drive
- Ability to work at occasional Parthenon and program events that often take place on evenings and weekends.
- Nonprofit, green space and arts industry experience a plus, preferably in Nashville
