This position is responsible for the development and maintenance of THA’s data infrastructure. Works to ensure high availability, reliability, and security of all data assets. Proposes and implements enhancements to improve the performance of the systems.
Job Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB: (listed in order of importance) List your principal accountabilities; identify what you do, what end results you are accountable for, and how you measure your success.
- The ability to adapt to a changing work environment and meet challenges presented throughout the day
- Database design and modeling for new databases
- Maintain all database instances across development and production environments
- Create and manage ETL processes using SSIS, Alteryx, or SAS
- Develop, analyze and optimize complex SQL queries using TSQL
- Implement appropriate controls, auditing, authentication, and encryption on protected datasets (HIPAA)
- Create and manage SQL objects (tables, views, functions, stored procedures, triggers, etc.)
- Create and manage SQL jobs to automate routine procedures
- Manage database backup processes, storage space, and capacity planning
- Database performance tuning as necessary (managing indexes and optimizing queries)
- Manage user database access (logins, connection strings, and permissions)
- Manage SQL environment, including version upgrades/migrations
- Must be available in the office during regular office hours unless job responsibilities require otherwise, or hybrid work arrangement is in place.

- Provide guidance and support to application developers and data analysts
- Create and maintain documentation for processes and changes

Qualifications
Educational and experience Requirements Needed to Perform the Duties of the Job:
Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of SQL development experience or at least 2 years of experience working in a similar database administrator role
Skills Required to Perform the Duties of the Job:
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively
- SQL Server 2012, 2014, and 2016+ administration
- SSIS, SSAS, and SSRS
- Strong skillset and experience in developing and maintaining ETL processes
- Windows Server 2012+
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Visio)
- Healthcare experience (HIPAA, administrative claims data, etc.) a strong plus
- Familiarity with SAS a plus
- Familiarity with Alteryx a plus
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure SQL a plus
- Experience with PowerBI development a plus
- Excellent organization skills and the ability to carry out multiple projects concurrently
