Communications:
This position requires a multiplicity of skills to be effective and successful. The selected candidate will serve on the HEERF (Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund) COVID Team and will lead all communication efforts related to the College’s COVID activities. The incumbent will communicate all matters related to the funding and the project activities. This includes, but is not limited to, working with the bursar, the web designer, assistant vice president for business affairs, the vice president for academic affairs and the senior vice president. All necessary information, including budgetary matters, will be reported to the Senior Management Team.
Job Responsibilities
Outreach:
Upon request, the incumbent will work with partner churches on COVID matters, and keep various community organizations well-informed of COVID protocols for safety and healthy purposes
The selected candidate will work on other projects as designated by the vice president of institutional advancement, including, but not limited to, developing, proofreading, and editing communications produced by the division or that must be approved by the division.
Training:
The selected candidate will lead training workshops on campus regarding COVID matters, within the guidelines of the funding, by providing federal, state, and campus protocols for COVID.
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of six to eight years of experience in communications, public relations, research, and community outreach. Excellent oral and written communication skills required; experience in higher education and/or HBCUs desirable.
Education: Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred

Salary Range
The salary ranges from $35,000 to $60,000 based on experience and degrees.
