Job Summary

Catholic Charities has an opening for the position of County Resource Navigator for Wilson/Sumner for the County Expansion Program. This position is full-time, working Monday through Friday, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., but flexibility is required.  The County Resource Navigator works closely with families to assist with accessing housing, transportation, childcare, and health and wellbeing supports; serves as families’ primary advocate and informational resource.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work on a one-on-one basis with families to create individual, customized plans to help overcome known barriers with gaining affordable and accessible housing, transportation, childcare, and health and wellbeing supports.
  • Create, updates, and communicates a list of available and affordable county-level housing, transportation, childcare, and wellbeing opportunities at least once per week.
  • Regularly participate in Care Coordination sessions, helping build a team of support that surrounds each family and guides them towards their self-identified goals.
  • Conduct home visits as needed.
  • Input family participation, progress, and assessments in TAEM’s data system. Uses data to make informed decisions and improve family interactions and supports.
  • Prepare marketing materials, conduct presentations, and actively makes effort to seek out and to maintain meaningful relationships with known and prospective partners.
  • Provide small group, virtual, and one-on-one programming to educate participants on opportunities.
  • Work at county-level to participate in preexisting or create new collaborative efforts to build awareness, increase funding and capacity, and leverage greater resources toward affordable housing, transportation, childcare, and health and wellbeing.
  • Maintain accurate client records and documentation in Salesforce.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and planning sessions with the team.
  • Assist other team members on an as-needed basis.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Master’s degree in social work or related field preferred, OR bachelor’s degree in social work or related field, with at least two years of experience working with families and young children.
  • Nonprofit experience and training in trauma-informed care, family-centered coaching, conscious discipline, and ACES preferred.

Other Skills or Requirements:

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with a wide range of constituents, both internal and external to TAEM.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong management/organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of inner-city human services needs and methods of delivery.
  • Passion for working with people, especially with young children, and can maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
  • County/regional travel required.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment, courtesy, and tact in dealing with the public and staff.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with extreme professionalism.
  • Attention to detail and adherence to deadlines.
  • Ability to plan and organize work.
  • Ability to follow tasks through to completion.
  • Effective interpersonal skills including emotional intelligence, reliability, positivity, negotiation, empathy, and openness to feedback.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team and independently with minimal direction.
  • Basic computer proficiency in Microsoft Office suite; ability to learn databases.
