Job Summary

Mercy Community Healthcare is looking for a Community Outreach and Marketing Specialist to recruit new patients and build business and community relationships to ensure that Mercy is top of mind for integrated primary healthcare. This role is mainly field based, supporting Mercy’s Leadership, Advancement and Business Development team.

Mercy’s Mission: The mission of Mercy Community Healthcare is to reflect the love and compassion of Jesus Christ by providing excellent healthcare to ALL and support to their families. We provide care to the uninsured, underinsured and insured through pediatric and adult primary care, mental and behavioral health services, and care coordination.

Job Responsibilities

What Is This Job All About?

  • Develop relationships with hospitals, urgent care centers, skilled nursing and assisted living providers, day care centers, community groups, church organizations, criminal justice courts and other potential referral sources in the local market to ensure these stakeholders know the services we provide.
  • Collaborate with the Advancement Department in the development of marketing/PR materials and events that will be utilized for building relationships with target markets.
  • Promote Mercy through presentations, seminars and other activities that will result in new patient referrals.
  • Identify, forge, and maintain strong working relationships with external community organizations, major donors, and internal departments.
  • Manage and track functions of outreach activity to ensure best practices and productivity are followed and performance goals are met.
  • Represent Mercy at collaborative public forums and local outreach events such as health counsels and health fairs, etc.
  • Must have the ability to travel (approx. 80% regional travel required) in Williamson, Marshall, and surrounding counties.


What We Need from You:

  • BS or BA degree with emphasis on marketing preferred.
  • Marketing experience in non-profits and healthcare preferred.
  • Proven success in meeting and exceeding performance goals.
  • People person, with a dynamic and charismatic personality.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of integrated care and support strategies.
  • Flexibility as it relates to schedule, responsibilities, and priorities. Occasionally requires attendance on weekends and after-hours functions.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • The ability to report data accurately.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in business systems, technology, and social media.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
