Job Summary
Coffee County Children’s Advocacy Center is seeking a candidate who is passionate about child abuse prevention and intervention for the Community Outreach and Family Support Assistant position. Individuals will work directly with children and families who are referred to the CAC for services. Services may include crisis counseling, information and referral as well as coordination of services. This individual will also work closely with the multidisciplinary team to track and monitor cases. Along with intervention services, this person will be responsible for implementing an evidence-based child abuse prevention curriculum in the community. Training will be provided.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for implementing program services for children who are victims of abuse and their non-offending families in Coffee County.
- Responsible for greeting families at the Forensic Interviewing process and giving them information regarding victim rights, victim’s compensation, resource list, and providing a needs assessment for the family.
- Responsible for supporting children and non-offending parents or caregivers in cases where a child is a victim of abuse.
- Responsible for establishing a trusting relationship with these families by initiating regular client contact, providing emotional support, and assisting the family in coping with the realities and complexities of recovering from trauma.
- Connect the child and family with appropriate resources within the community and act as liaison for the child and family
- Maintain client records in a complete and concise manner
- Enter and track case data for the multidisciplinary team
- Work with partner agencies to coordinate services for the child and non-offending family to reduce the trauma on the child and family
- Deliver child abuse prevention programs in the community and work with other agencies to determine training needs
- Develop relationships with outside organizations to identify new training audiences for the adult child abuse prevention program.

Qualifications
Degree required.
Prior Experience Desired
Preferably one year of experience working with children and/or families. Training will be made available to the appropriate candidate.
Supervisory Relationships:
Supervised by the Executive Director at the Coffee County Children’s Advocacy Center on a regular weekly basis and as needed.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree (minimum). Fluency in English. Spanish speaking is a plus. Ability to work with diverse populations. Must be able to pass a thorough background check and provide a record of good health.

Amount of Travel, Salary Range, Hours per Day of Week
Some travel may be required within Coffee County with some statewide meetings held in Nashville.
