Community Corrections Secretary
The position is located out of the Gallatin office and involves the community corrections program which supervises and monitors non-violent felony offenders who have been released from incarceration and assigned to house arrest.
Activities associated with this position include the assembly of materials, composes, and types routine correspondence, reports, and other material. Gives a variety of routine information to the public on request. Answers telephone and gives information to callers or routes calls to appropriate officials. Establishes and maintains a filing system for various types of records, forms and correspondence. Assists staff as required in making arrangements for meetings, scheduling appointments, etc. Assembles data or narratives for report purposes and occasionally summarizes such data in oral or written form. Document supplies needed and forward to administrative staff. Audits and holds responsibility for terminated offender files on database. Assist Case Officers with technical and clerical tasks. Maintain and reconcile deposits and payments. Assist in preparations of financial statements and required forms. May complete Pre & Post Sentence Report as directed.
High School degree or equivalent. Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment; knowledge of business English and arithmetic; knowledge of the procedure of organizing and writing administrative reports; ability to evaluate situations and make decisions; ability to express ideas clearly, concisely, and convincingly ability to type accurately. The ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the public and other employees. The Knowledge of principles and methods of bookkeeping, accounting and application thereof; Knowledge of computer systems and data bases; ability to make arithmetic calculations accurately and direct the flow of a considerable volume of detailed work.
