Job Summary

Unscripted’s Community Access Program Manager (part-time/contract) is responsible for the end-to-end management of the Community Access (or Access) program division. This position is for a one year appointment, with the opportunity to grow with a relatively young organization. The Community Access PM reports directly to the Executive Director, and works closely with the ED and two other Program Managers (for the Education and Wellness programs). The payment structure is $300 a month contract stipend for an average of 5-7 hours of work a week with minimal, but required, team meetings and trainings on an ongoing basis. The position is fully online/remote, with opportunity for direct site visits and meetings.

Community Access programs include, but not limited to:

  • Improv for Everyone (a series of program partnerships with organizations who work with underserved and underrepresented groups in improv)
  • Zoomprov Breaks (free online improv jams)
  • Free Community Pop-Up workshops (on hold for now due to COVID-19)
  • The Unscripted Jam (on hold for now due to COVID-19)
  • Scholarship Program (for Unscripted programs and in partnership with the Third Coast Training Center)

Job Responsibilities

  • Preiminary meetings and curriculum planning with external partners
  • Selecction, hiring, scheduling, and coordination of program faculty
  • Program scheduling with participants
  • Locaiton coordination (physical or online)
  • Draft pertinent external communications (website, social media, newsletter, etc) for review by Executive Director (ED)
  • Create detailed, functional job requests for graphic design needs to be executed by designer
  • Develop and review program curricula with ED
  • Organize and execute all participant communication (scheduling details, reminders, follow-ups, etc)
  • Organize dissemination and data collection methods (typically pre/post survey
  • Coordinate with faculty (attendance tracking, billing/payouts)
  • Create a respectful and inclusive work environment and model respectufl and inclusive behavior
  • Additional minimal administrative and/or organizational responsibilities as needed

Qualifications

  • Familiarity/background in improv comedy required
    • Experience teaching and facilitating improv classes/workshops preferred
  • 1-3+ years experience in nonproit or similar organization required
  • Master communication skills, both written and verbal
  • General understanding of online work tools (Slack, Google Suite, Trello, Zoom, etc)
  • Collaborative spirit and willingness to work with others (in a very “improv” way)
  • Detail oriented, able to mange tasks like group scheduling, banking/billing, etc
  • Demonstrate an awareness and sensitivity to the needs and concerns of individuals from diverse cultures, backgrounds, and orientations
  • Able to effectively manage and lead a diverse team with emotional intelligence and cultural humility
