Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities

Marketing & Communications Leadership

Delivers expertise to continuously develop and implement marketing strategies related to content marketing and branding, web presence, public relations, and related market research. This position is responsible for planning and development of communications to support the organization both through communications to the congregation, and for promoting its offerings to potential congregants, as well as our content to the world at large.

Measure and improve content performance; create reports leveraging Google Analytics, social media analytics, and other tools. Build and maintain editorial calendar and written guidelines. Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends & challenges in order to build a more effective communication strategy. Push the organization to adopt better content creation practices through frequent testing of new content formats and distribution channels, including championing the increased use of data analytics.

Oversees weekly digital publications, and communications for special events, programs and worship services. This includes the weekly email, website, social media, and mobile platforms and TVC Online. Responsible for directing and coordinating with other staff and management of resources to maintain the brand consistency, character and DNA of The Village Chapel.

Utilizing a variety of tools with the goal of growing engagement in a manner that furthers the goals and reach of the ministry and the content it produces, demonstrating the overall organization’s values while supporting the mission to further our mission of glorifying God through the teaching of His word & heartfelt worship, and by connecting people with opportunities to live lives of real significance, serving God and their neighbors as a local community of faith.

Project Management –

Serves as the project manager of all communication activities for The Creative Services Team, delegating & assigning projects and overseeing development, and ensuring that they are completed in a timely, accurate and professional manner consistent with TVC’s vision, goals and branding.

Work with Ministry and Executive leadership team (MELT) and department leaders & staff to continually improve and develop communications processes and define priorities to create an environment in which messages can be communicated clearly, creatively and effectively. Interact with team members to create and review all content & ensure consistent message.

Be able to set relevant priorities on a daily basis as the job requires and understanding how to manage the changing priorities of multiple stakeholders in a complex environment and focus on the delivery of results.

Content Creation

Creates original content (copywriting) for all associated TVC media and manages to the ongoing communications content needs.

Works with MELT and TVC staff to define, develop and effectively craft communication messages to church-wide and other specific audiences. Utilizes strong writing, editing and proofreading skills as the “eyes” for all things print and digital, looking for clear communication, brand presence and consistency with our organization’s tone and mission.

Qualifications
The ability to take information and transform it into exciting and useful messages and disseminate it to the right audiences through the best distribution channel is critical.

Highly collaborative style; experience developing and implementing communication strategies, excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills. Skilled as an implementer who thrives on managing a variety of key initiatives concurrently. Relationship builder with the flexibility and finesse to “manage by influence.”

High energy, maturity, and leadership with the ability to serve as a unifying force and to position communication discussions at both the strategic and tactical levels. Sincere commitment to work collaboratively with all ministry groups, including staff, volunteers, program participants and all other supporters.

Must be proficient with a variety of software including Microsoft Office, Google suite, social media management applications, digital analytics software, project management software, WordPress and other applications essential for performing core job functions.

A successful candidate should have at least 5-8 years of content marketing and/or public relations experience, including direct copywriting & editing, with consistent performance in deadline-oriented environment, and demonstrated ability to work productively with counterparts in a cross-functional capacity.
