Job Summary

The Tennessee Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence (the Coalition) seeks a Communications and Grants Specialist. Ideal candidates possess diverse knowledge of domestic and sexual violence and experience in developing innovative and engaging communication materials and grant proposals.

Who We Are

Established in 1983, the Tennessee Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence is a non-profit organization with the mission to end domestic and sexual violence in the lives of Tennesseans and to change societal attitudes and institutions that promote and condone violence, through public policy advocacy, education and activities that increase the capacity of programs and communities to address such violence. Serving as the state resource center on domestic and sexual violence, we foster statewide partnerships, develop effective programs, provide legal services and emergency financial assistance to survivors, and advocate for social change to end rape and abuse.

Job Responsibilities

Grants Management

  • Research private, corporate and governmental grant opportunities
  • Coordinate grant team meetings
  • Develop grant proposals
  • Work with the Associate Director to develop grant budgets
  • Generate support letters for Coalition and member agencies as needed
  • Submit proposals and all accompanying materials
  • Monitor grant implementation for compliance
  • Review and submit grant reports
  • Work with staff to complete reports
  • Maintain a calendar of grant and report deadlines

Administrative

  • Technical assistance to member programs as needed
  • Develop and/or compile materials as needed to support staff projects
  • Update Giving Matters Profile

Communications

  • Post on social media platforms
  • Review and update Coalition website
  • Edit quarterly board reports
  • Develop and distribute:
  • Agency newsletter and brochures
  • Press releases
  • Solicitation materials
  • Membership materials and conduct annual membership drive
  • Special Events
  • Invitations, Programs, Letters
  • Script for the event, Proclamation
  • Press Releases, Photo opportunities

Other Duties

  • Attend meetings and training as necessary including staff meetings, grant meetings, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Associate Director and Executive Director.

Qualifications

  •  Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Three years of experience in grant writing and grant management
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Emma, or other publishing software
  • Documented experience in writing press releases and annual reports
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Demonstrated organizational skills
  • Ability to exercise sound professional judgment
  • Experience working for social change organization
  • Knowledge of domestic and sexual violence
  • Ability to work with a diverse constituency.

The position is full-time. In-office work will be required at times. Remote work will be allowed for this position. The role may require travel. The salary for this position ranges from $40,000 to $45,000 based on experience.
