Position Title:            Clinical Therapist and Supervisor

Location:                    Davis House Child Advocacy Center, Franklin | Hohenwald | Centerville                                

Direct Supervisor:     Program Director


Summary:  The Clinical Therapist will provide services to child trauma survivors who have experienced trauma as a result of child sexual abuse and/or severe physical abuse. The person in this position will also provide supervision to other clinical therapists and interns in need of supervision services. This position will be based out of our Franklin office, with occasional work from either Hohenwald or Centerville.

 

Job Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities:
·       To assess treatment needs of clients; to develop treatment plans for clients; and measure/monitor progress on treatment plans for clients.
·       To keep timely records of therapy sessions and treatment plans with children and their caregiver(s).
·       To enhance knowledge about child sexual abuse and violence, and enhance the knowledge of secondary victim(s).
·       To support the secondary victim(s) in cases of alleged child sexual abuse or severe physical abuse so that the caregiver(s) can act responsibly to protect and support the child victim.
·       To educate the secondary victim(s) about the legal and child protecting systems and the community resources available to the caregiver and his/her child.
·       To attend Child Protective Investigative Team (CPIT) meetings and work together with other members of the Child Protective Investigative Team by advocating for the child and providing insight on the therapeutic process for case investigative purposes.
·       To support the court process through providing requested documentation and testifying in court.
·       To advocate for the child as necessary in court or other setting as applicable.
·       To maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate the client.

·       To remain current with professional literature and research on child abuse issues.
·       To complete continuing education hours as required for maintaining licensure.

·       To provide qualified supervision for temporarily licensed clinicians and clinical interns as needed for state and NCA-required guidance.

·       To support the work of the clinical team as a valuable member of the direct services staff and overall employee of Davis House CAC.

·       To be responsive to other duties as assigned by the Program Director and/or Executive Director.

 

Qualifications

Qualifications: 

Must have a Master’s Degree in Psychology, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Social Work. A current license in the respective field is required. Candidates with Approved Supervisor or Supervisor-in-Training status in her/his respective field will be given special consideration; must possess a minimum of three (3) years of direct experience working with family systems and/or children in a clinical setting.

 

Special Knowledge and Abilities:
·       Basic working knowledge of lifespan development and child abuse dynamics.
·       Working knowledge of different therapeutic modalities of treatment with an emphasis on Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Family Play Therapy.
·       Ability to work with professionals from many disciplines.

 

Considerations and Compensation:
Davis House will consider full-time (40) hours for this Clinical Therapist and Supervisor position. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and in line with Davis House policies and procedures. The compensation package includes salary and Davis House-approved benefits.
