Job Summary

Seeking highly qualified individuals with experience in education and youth development that has a passion for helping today’s youth. Children Are People, Inc. serves at-risk students, in grades K-12.  The program provides tutoring, mentoring, and life skills. The program operates Monday through Thursday 2-6 p.m. This part-time classroom instructor position will work with (elementary students) to provide homework help, academic enrichment, character development, and more.

Job Responsibilities

• Document attendance
• Provide directed lessons on subject areas as designated by the CAP curriculum (Civics)
• Assist students with homework
• Help develop and encourage a strong work ethic and character both inside and outside the classroom
• Facilitate other activities as needed.

Expectations include:

• Working collaboratively with other members of the teaching team and administration
• Attending Staff meetings and parent meetings
• Maintaining professional boundaries at all times
• Gathering and reporting on outcomes as requested by the administration
• Other duties as assigned by the administration
• Follow all policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree desired; associate’s degree accepted.
• Ability to be on time to work and prepared to perform classroom duties.
• Must pass a background check including fingerprinting through the TBI
