Job Summary

Work with children in domestic violence shelter and community that live in a home where domestic violence is/was occurring

Job Responsibilities

• Child Intake / Assessment on all children in shelter
• Build a network for referrals and advocacy
• Develop the Children’s Program
• Provide positive parenting behavioral skills to clients
• Complete a Safety Plan with program participants
• Write and maintain policies on CDC Covid Guidelines.
• Keep staff trained and updated on CDC guidance changes
• Monitor compliance of CDC Guidelines
• Facilitate transition and on-going needs around virtual school
• Work with the School System and individual teachers
• Assist with Tutoring
• Facilitate Support Group with age appropriate activities
• Conduct individual supportive counseling sessions with the children
• Attend Training’s and Staff meetings
• Provide community trainings as requested
• Supervise Childcare Worker
• Provide backup to other staff positions as needed
• Insure all grant guidelines are maintained
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Valid Drivers License
• Automobile Insurance
• Pass a Criminal Background Check
• The ability to interact in a positive manner with children addressing behaviors through creative problem solving
• The ability to work as a team using direct communication
• Organizational Skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Computer Skills
• Flexibility
• Prior experience working with children
• Ability to lift and carry 30 lbs.
