Job Summary

The purpose of the FUUN Nursery Is to provide excellent childcare during Church services and functions. Children ages 06 months-10 years old are cared for in a safe, clean, enjoyable, and supportive environment.

Job Responsibilities

Caregivers are responsible for:

  • Leading age-appropriate interactive activities.
  • Feeding, changing diapers, escorting children to the bathroom, and maintaining a safe environment with good hygiene practices. (Use universal methods for changing diapers and washing hands).
  • Holding, sitting with, and cheerfully interacting with children through games, stories, and play.
  • Cleaning and disinfecting interactive areas at the end of each shift.
  •  Engaging with children, parents, and volunteers in a polite, friendly, and respectful manner.
  • Arriving on time and staying in the Nursery until children are secured with specified responsible adult provided in sign in/out paperwork.
  • In the event of an emergency, notify the parent via the communication system.
  • Report to the Childcare Coordinator any issues which may hinder the duties or responsibilities from being accomplished.
  • Communicating, in advance by phone, to the Childcare Coordinator any planned absences with a two week notice or unplanned absences at least two hours prior to shift.

Qualifications

  • Experience working and caring for young children in a childcare environment is required with knowledge of childhood development for infants and toddlers through elementary age.
  • Degree in child developmentt or pursuit of a child development/education degree is a plus.
  • Respect for the FUUN mission, purposes, and principles.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Accessible; quickly and easily reached by phone, text, or email.
  • Able to lift 30 pounds.
  • Trained in CPR and First Aid.
