Job Summary

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) oversees TSCPA’s day-to-day operations.  This position is a key member of the senior leadership team, reporting to the President/Chief Executive Officer (CEO).  The COO oversees the development of individual and team goals to facilitate the delivery of programs and services to TSCPA’s membership.  The COO also has responsibility to ensure that the Society has the proper operational controls and administrative and reporting procedures in place to effectively grow and thrive in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the President/CEO to implement programs, policies, and processes that further the mission of TSCPA
  • Establish metrics for measuring progress towards long range goals and objectives
  • Oversee Society programs including membership, communications, and continuing professional education
  • Oversee human resource functions including employee recruitment, retention, evaluation, and training and development
  • Work with senior leadership team to develop employee culture focused on continuous improvement, member service, and pride of TSCPA brand
  • Serve as liaison to TSCPA governance and assist with planning and execution of Board of Directors, Council, and other committee meetings
  • Manage daily operations of TSCPA including facility, equipment, and technology

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Non-profit or association experience, Certified Association Executive preferred
  • Senior management experience
  • Experience managing multiple operational areas

Required Competencies

  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated competency in strategic planning and business development
  • Demonstrated competency in data analysis and performance/operation metrics
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Experience using Association Management Software
