Job Summary

The CHASCo Assistant Director is a full-time, 12-month position of the Tennessee Independent Colleges and Universities Association (TICUA) designed to support the activities of the Coalition for Healthy and Safe Campus Communities (CHASCo).
The CHASCo Assistant Director will devote an average of thirty-seven and a half (37.5) hours a week to the overall coordination of approved activities. Seventy percent (75%) of the coordinator’s time will be spent implementing the activities of the TN Campus Overdose Prevention & Response Project and thirty percent
(25%) supporting the Mental Health & Substance Abuse Services (MHSAS) Higher Education Initiative. This position is funded through a three-year grant (July 1, 2024-June 30, 2027). This position will work remotely and will be expected to travel to campus locations as necessary. Work may be conducted outside of normal business hours.

Job Responsibilities

The Assistant Director will spend 75% of their time devoted to the TN Campus Overdose Prevention & Response Project. The overarching goal of the project is to assist two- and four-year higher education institutions across the state in developing the infrastructure necessary to provide overdose education and response materials to their campus communities.
Description of Primary Responsibilities for the TN Campus Overdose Prevention & Response Project:

•    Assist with publicizing project opportunities and recruiting a consortium of higher education institutions to participate.
•    Partner with SAFE Campuses to provide technical assistance to our campuses for building up the infrastructure needed to provide effective overdose education and to distribute naloxone and testing strips.
•    Serve as the Liaison with our distributors of Naloxone and fill orders for our campuses.
•    Partner with our evaluation team to develop and implement a project evaluation plan. This includes gathering information and generating reports as necessary.
•    Partner with designers, students, and campuses to develop overdose education materials tailored to a campus setting.
•    Plan and provide professional development as necessary for higher education institutions to achieve their project-related goals.
•    Assist the CHASCo Director with the administration of the grant budget by assuring all expenses to be reimbursed are allowable, processing of allowable reimbursements, and keeping accounting records and files of all grant-related expenses.

•    Work closely with the CHASCo Director to assist with the implementation of meetings, professional development, and the annual Partners in Prevention conference.
•    Work with the CHASCo Director to create a membership outreach plan. This will include campus meetings, addressing member engagement, and setting up membership initiatives as needed.
•    Work closely with the CHASCO Director to implement CHASCo goals and objectives, and to ensure compliance with fiscal monitoring and reporting responsibilities as determined by the grants.
•    Assist with the development and implementation of social media plans and strategies for CHASCo.
•    Attend community and campus meetings as necessary.
•    Work closely with the CHASCo Director and fiscal agent, TICUA, to ensure compliance with all grant awards.
•    Research potential funding opportunities and assist with grant writing and reporting in order to ensure sustainability of CHASCo and this position.

Qualifications

Qualifications: The successful candidate for this position will be excellent at developing new programs, problem-solving, and working independently. Knowledge and experience in implementing evidence-based prevention strategies is desirable. Excellent organizational and communication skills required. The successful candidate should have experience working with diverse populations. Experience in a higher education setting is desirable. The successful candidate must be proficient in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and basic social media platforms.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Social Work, Higher Education, or closely related field; and one to three years of work-related experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Public Health, Social Work, Higher Education, or closely related field; and one to two years of work-related experience.
