Job Summary

The position performs high level administrative and management duties necessary to provide chapter relation services to professional societies managed by Parthenon Management Group. The Chapter Relations Manager is responsible for overseeing the activities between national and all official chapters of the organization. Other key duties include the facilitation of information and communication between the chapters, and the chapters and national, and chapter support for education programs, membership development, public relations and grassroots efforts.

Job Responsibilities

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES, include the following but are not limited to:

Serves as a liaison to selected committees: advise chair, attend meetings, prepare minutes, handle meeting logistics, etc

  • Chapter Presidents’ Council
  • Awards Committee
  • Public Policy Committee

Oversee all chapter relations activities and priorities as driven by the organization’s strategic plan.

  • Build and maintain relationships with chapter leaders by establishing regular contact and traveling to chapter meetings as necessary.
  • Assist chapters in their activities, including government and public relations, education, and membership recruitment and retention.
  • Research, write and send a regular eNewsletter to chapter leadership.
  • Develop program, perform meeting planning, publicize and manage the annual Chapter Leaders Workshop program.
  • Target areas where no chapters exist; work with local membership to create.
  • Handle all new chapter processing, charter, paperwork; ensure chapters remain compliant.
  • Create and deliver chapter leadership training programs.
  • Assist in identifying, creating, planning, and developing new chapter programs and services.
  • Other chapter programs as necessary.

Support the Membership Manager

  • Assist with recruitment and retention efforts.
  • Create and promote chapter membership recruitment plans.
  • Build Company Memberships.

Oversees and utilizes appropriate resources to ensure that the operations of the organization are appropriate.

  • Maintain all chapter files; update annually.
  • Attend all staff meetings; others as appropriate.
  • Provide input on the staff task list and agendas.
  • Complete bi-weekly timesheets.

Oversee legislative activities of the organization.

  • Monitor legislative priorities; distribute information.
  • Assist ED in society legislation activity at national and state level.
  • All other assigned activities (outside of Public Policy Committee work).

Oversee the organization of Chapter activities during the Annual Conference.

  • Work with the Meetings Department to ensure timely completion of all logistics related to chapter activities during the Annual Conference.
  • Assist with other meetings related activities as outlined in the annual task list.

Participate in customer service activities.

  • Answer incoming calls as needed; assist with voicemail/email responses as needed.

Additional Duties As Required:

  • Support Executive Director with special projects.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelors Degree from a fouryear university or equivalent experience.
  • Transparent and high integrity leadership.
  • Solid, hands-on, budget management skills, including budget preparation, analysis, decision-making and reporting.
  • Strong organizational abilities including planning, delegating, program development and task facilitation.
  • Ability to convey a vision of the organization’s strategic future to staff, chapter leaders and volunteers.
  • Skills to collaborate with and motivate chapter leaders and other volunteers.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee, train, and collaborate with staff.
  • Detailed oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word and Excel strongly preferred.
