AGENCY DESCRIPTION:
AncoraTN (ATN), formerly End Slavery Tennessee, works tirelessly to nurture survivor healing and strategically combat human trafficking in Middle Tennessee. We seek to break cycles of exploitation and support survivors of human trafficking as they heal from their traumas—offering long-term, comprehensive aftercare services. Through training communities and professionals, advocating for legal changes, and implementing prevention programming, AncoraTN works to stop human trafficking before it ever begins.
AncoraTN was founded in 2012 as a faith-based, not-for-profit organization for the purpose of community awareness and education. REPORTS TO: Housing Manager
POSITION SUMMARY: The overnight housing staff plays a critical role in maintaining a safe, secure, and supportive environment for survivors of human trafficking residing at our restoration campus. This position is responsible for overnight supervision, crisis intervention, and ensuring residents’ well-being while upholding trauma-informed and survivor-centered care practices and organizational values.
Job Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will oversee a holistic system of care for the survivors of human trafficking.
Responsibilities include:
- Resident Support & Safety
- Provide overnight supervision, ensuring a safe and supportive living environment.
- Conduct regular security and wellness checks throughout the shift.
- Respond to resident needs, offering emotional support and de-escalation when necessary.
- Address conflicts or crises using trauma-informed care and crisis intervention techniques.
- Monitor and uphold house rules and policies while maintaining a respectful and compassionate approach.
- Facility Oversight & Operations
- Conduct routine walkthroughs to ensure the safety and cleanliness of the facility.
- Document shift activities, incidents, and resident interactions in accordance with organizational policies.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in all resident interactions.
- Support operational duties of light housekeeping, monitoring on site vendors (i.e. cleaning company), ensuring no interaction between vendors and participants, stocking offices with supplies, and other overnight facility needs as requested.
- Emergency & Crisis Response
- Respond appropriately to medical, behavioral, or safety emergencies following established protocols.
- Contact on-call staff, law enforcement, or emergency services as needed.
- Ensure all emergency incidents are documented and reported in a timely manner.
- Collaboration & Communication
- Communicate relevant observations and concerns to the daytime residential staff and program leadership.
- Participate in team meetings and ongoing training related to trauma-informed care and survivor support.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is carried out primarily in an office setting with intermittent sitting, standing, walking and some light physical activity. Most work is performed while sitting and using the computer, phone and engaged in face-to-face conversation with staff and/or clients. Some car travel and the use of personal vehicles is required. This position is a full-time in-person position.
Employees are required to remain alert and attentive throughout their scheduled shifts. Sleeping or engaging in any activity that compromises job performance during working hours, including third-shift assignments, is strictly prohibited. Failure to adhere to this policy may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Initial and subsequent random drug screening is required as per agency policy.
- A background check is required.
- Must be willing and able to embrace and exemplify our core values.
JOB TYPE:
Full-time, typically Sunday-Thursday 11pm-7am. Some travel may be required.
Qualifications
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS:
- High school diploma or GED required, associate or bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, criminal justice, or a related field preferred.
- Experience working in a residential setting, crisis response, or with vulnerable populations preferred.
- Understanding of trauma-informed care, survivor advocacy, and crisis intervention strategies.
- Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Must be available for overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Training or certification in crisis intervention, mental health first aid, or de-escalation techniques.
- Experience working with survivors of trafficking, domestic violence, or similar populations.
Additional Information
Benefits
Base Salary:
$40,000-$45,000 based on education and experience.
Benefits:
- Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance. Eligible after 30 days of employment.
- $150.00/ month for therapy
- 120 hours PTO accrued 10 hours/ month. Eligible after 30 days of employment.
- 96 hours sick leave accrued 4 hours/ pay period. Eligible after 30 days of employment.
- 13 paid holidays
- 4 floating holidays
- Short term disability, long term disability, AD&D and Life insurance
- Employer 403b match up to 1% of salary based on employee contributions and dependent on annual board vote. Eligible after 6 months of employment
