Principal Function: Manage and maintain physical plant by assessing systems including but not limited to electrical, plumbing, HV/AC, irrigation, telecommunications, security systems, elevator maintenance, landscaping, kitchen maintenance, etc. Oversee major property projects along with the Property Operations Manager as church representative. Performs a wide variety of day-to-day maintenance repairs and renovations of the facility.
The successful candidate is/has:
Proficient in small repairs such as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC; assesses and knows when to call for an outside vendor
Good knowledge of, and ability to perform, standard maintenance of buildings
Familiarity with building codes
Loves to “tinker” with machinery and figure out how things work
Basic carpentry skills
Good problem-solving skills
Can prioritize projects based on greatest need
Can communicate with people from different backgrounds
A “can-do” spirit; willingness to help out others
Can perform tasks as needed including appliance installation, changing locks, and maintenance on the irrigation system
Physical requirements include but are not limited to, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb stairs and ladders (including accessing the roof), walk, bend, crawl, etc.
Must be able to provide references, pass a background check, and must have a valid driver’s license
Prior experience working in an old building is a plus
