Job Summary

AHR needs a bookkeeper to manage its QuickBooks system for entering all invoices, payables and payments and to work with AHR’s third party accounting service.  The bookkeeper will work with the CEO, Director of Housing and Director of Lending as well.  Bookkeeper will cut all checks once a week.  They will also work with the Accounting service on the monthly financial report and the auditor on AHR’s annual audit.  They will be required to join in on all Board and Finance Committee meetings.  There will be some regulations to learn, as AHR manages several sources of federal and back funds for its lending and construction programs

Job Responsibilities

  • The company maintains the accounting records utilizing QuickBooks.  There are three companies in use.
    • AHR – Affordable Housing Resources is the primary company for programs & administration.
    • THC – The Home Company of AHR is the home development arm for construction & sale of homes & developments.
    • AHR Soft Thirds is a reconciliation company for DOS loans of the company.
  • Record accounts payable billings & issue disbursement of funds either by check, electronic transfer or bank drafts.  Approximately 15-25 disbursements per week.
  • Record deposits weekly of funds either by check, cash or electronic bank receipts.
  • Payroll administrator. Semi-monthly issuance of payroll via direct deposit, filing of corresponding 941 taxes.  Quarterly filing of 941 and TN SUI tax reporting.  Year end W-2 and 1099 forms.
  • Retirement 403B administrator.  Payroll filing of employee retirement contributions and company match according to the benefits plan.  Annual filing of compliance reports for IRS Form 5500.
  • Monthly bank reconciliations for 9 accounts: 5 with Pinnacle Financial Partners; 2 with Regions Bank; 2 with Bank of Tennessee.
  • Liaison with Pinnacle Financial Partners for loan servicing.  Preparation of monthly reconciliation principal & interest payments.  Monthly loan portfolio report.
  • Monthly preparation of financial statements: Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Long & Short term debt schedule, Statement of Cash Flow.
  • Annual budget preparation.
  • Annual audit duties in conjunction with outside auditors.
  • Contact point for other financial matters as required.

Qualifications

Experience in QuickBooks.  Experience in Bookkeeping. 

This will be a good job to gain vital experience as well.
