Job Summary

High Hopes is excited to add Behavior Services to our repertoire of offerings to help support children and families. The BCBA – Program Lead will provide mission driven care as a member of a multidisciplinary team including PT, OT, ST, FT, and teachers. The BCBA – Program Lead will help build an exceptional High Hopes Behavioral Therapy program that provides support to individuals with autism spectrum disorder, and/or other related behavioral and developmental disabilities. The BCBA – Program Lead will be an integral team member charged with implementation of the Behavior Program at High Hopes with responsibilities including but not limited to business development, programming goals, process design, assessment and documentation determinations, and staffing.

Job Responsibilities

Evaluations:

  • Administer comprehensive behavioral evaluations including standardized assessment tools.
  • Write comprehensive reports summarizing the details of the evaluation, recommendations, and treatment plan including functional goals.
  • Communicate results of evaluations to parents and members of the multidisciplinary team.

 

Therapy:

  • Design, implement, monitor, and update comprehensive behavioral treatment programs for children, families, and community caregivers.
  • Communicate progress and recommended home/classroom activities with parents and members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Reassess, update, and discuss goals with family input.
  • Consult with and support other members of the multidisciplinary team, including therapists and teachers.
  • Contribute to the cleanliness and physical maintenance of the therapy room including thorough cleaning of the toys, straightening cabinets and shelves, organizing toys, replacing batteries, cleaning furniture and floors as needed.

Documentation:

  • Document evaluations, progress reports, and treatment notes timely, accurately, and according to clinic requirements.

Meetings:

  • Attend bi-yearly IPP meetings for High Hopes School students and provide progress summaries for parents and members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Attend training meetings/sessions as required to maintain licensure.
  • Attend mandatory staff meetings.

Classrooms:

  • Serve as a consultant to classroom teachers regarding specific needs of the children.
  • Serve as resource regarding facilitating fine motor development.

Miscellaneous:

  • Work as a team with therapists, teachers, and administration to ensure smooth and safe operation of High Hopes.
  • Communicate with families and others in a positive and consistent manner.
  • Serve as an ambassador for High Hopes to families, other professionals, and the community.
  • Maintain current CPR certification and first aid training.
  • Actively participate in 1 fund raising event at High Hopes.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in psychology, special education, or related field.
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
  • Three years of previous BCBA work experience with children with developmental disabilities and/or behavior disorders.
  • One year of experience in a supervisory role.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Five years of experience BCBA work experience in an outpatient setting.
  • Experience with program development and/or management of an outpatient practice.
  • Experience training and supporting members of a multidisciplinary team including therapists and teachers.
  • Experience developing clinical documentation tools and policies. (High Hopes’ clinicians use Raintree for clinical documentation. The BCBA – Program Lead will help customize clinical documentation templates and determine documentation policies for the team.)
  • Basic understanding of outpatient clinical billing of behavioral services. (High Hopes has dedicated billing staff and contracted billing support responsible for day-to-day billing. The BCBA- Program Lead may be consulted for clinical needs regarding billing procedures)
