Job Summary

Forensic interview are provided to children who may have experienced abuse or who have witnessed a crime or other violent act. The primary aim of forensic interview is to aid in ensuring the safety of the individual child as well as other children in the community. Forensic interviews are provided in a safe and child-friendly environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct child interviews with alleged victims of or child witnesses to sexual or severe physical abuse
  • Conduct child interviews in accordance with the established forensic interviewer investigative protocol
  • Preparing FI Summary Reports and ensuring they are received by appropriate CPIT members
  • Data entry:  NCAtrak data tracking platform, Board Stats, Master List of FIs, and other statistical reports that may be requested
  • Serve as members of the Child Protective Investigative Team (CPIT).
  • Participate in pertinent court proceedings
  • Participate in peer review assessments and mandatory supervisory evaluations
  • Attend periodic meetings of the Forensic Interviewers throughout Tennessee
  • Receive continuing educational hours pertaining to child abuse and neglect throughout the year
  • Other duties as deemed appropriate by the Director of Forensic and Family Services and CEO

Qualifications

  • Must be fluent in Spanish and English
  • Experience equivalent to three years of full-time professional work in child protective services, criminal justice, clinical evaluation, forensic interviewing or other comparable work with children
  • Demonstrated professional knowledge of child abuse and neglect and child development
  • Demonstrated successful experience with interdisciplinary teamwork
  • No criminal history as determined by a criminal background check
