Job Summary
The Insure All Tennessee initiative is Tennessee Health Care Campaign’s health access hub where any resident of the state of Tennessee can access information and enrollment assistance with health coverage options including TennCare, CoverKids, Healthcare.gov Marketplace, and other community resources. We maintain a toll-free enrollment hotline and website. All services are free. Insure All Tennessee is the State’s only nonprofit insurance agency. This position requires direct client contact in person (in accordance with current safety protocols) and over the phone to provide health insurance education, outreach, enrollment, and care management. This position would work in the THCC office in Murfreesboro or Knoxville.
Job Responsibilities
- Answer the toll-free enrollment line and listen attentively to callers’ concerns.
- Educate consumers about the importance of insurance coverage.
- Assist customers with TennCare and CoverKids enrollment in person or by phone.
- Link families with medical, social services, and other community organizations.
- Participate in orientation and ongoing training to improve knowledge and skills in health insurance enrollment and effective listening.
- Represent the program at outreach events and build community partnerships.
- Refer callers to THCC-licensed insurance agents as appropriate.
- Gather and document information on each family, and maintain accurate records.
Qualifications
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Solid listening and communication skills.
- Ability to respond professionally and calmly to complex and challenging situations.
- Ability to work with clients with diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds, religious views, lifestyles, and sexual orientations and to treat individuals with respect and dignity.
- Strong ethical standards regarding the protection of client personal information.
- Strong organizational skills; Computer skills and data entry required.
- Ensure client satisfaction with service delivery.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- 2 years of nonprofit work experience preferred.
- 2 years of front-line service delivery experience or lived experience with TennCare is preferred.
- Experience working with immigrant populations and low-income communities is preferred.
- Knowledge of health and human services infrastructure and public coverage options preferred.
- Must have a reliable automobile for use on the job; Must have and maintain automobile insurance coverage. Must possess a valid Tennessee Driver’s License.
- Must have a Smartphone in good working order
- Subject to a criminal background check prior to employment
