Job Summary

Our Place Nashville’s Board is seeking candidates for the position of Associate Director, reporting to and working with OPN’s Executive Director. The ideal candidate will be a compassionate person who is willing to approach problem-solving with empathy and respect for people with disabilities. We are seeking someone who is inspired by our mission to provide inclusive affordable housing and has previous experience in program coordination or program management.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide a leadership role in a growing organization in a variety of areas.
  • Assist the Executive Director in overseeing full-time and part-time staff as they provide on-the-ground resident support
  • Build partnerships with other organizations to recruit program participants and fill inclusive housing vacancies. 
  • Assist in giving house tours, meeting with future or new residents, and lead the team that moves them into housing.
  • Serve as liaison with housing partner management on leasing, maintenance, and other property issues.
  • Volunteer & In-Kind Donation Management
  • Organize and oversee a small pool of volunteers.
  • Oversee and organize procurement of donated items from local individuals or companies.
  • Keep records, submit invoices, and other tasks needed to support the accounting team with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email marketing platforms and database management (GoDaddy), and accounting software (QuickBooks).
  • Assist the Executive Director with marketing, communications, and community relations by co-creating a monthly newsletter and keeping the website and social media pages updated.   Also oversee the intern who will be managing and creating content for social media posts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram), monthly calendars, and our website.
  • Assist the Exec. Dir. with writing grant proposals and fundraising events.
  • Represent Our Place Nashville and help build key relationships at community, training, education, and programming events, fundraisers, and with local business organizations as needed.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree required, in social work or a related field is preferred.
  • Applicants with 3-5 years of experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, their families, and other professionals who work with people with this population.
  • Strong organizational leadership, operations, or program management, and attention to detail.
  • Experience in fundraising, marketing, and public speaking.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and oral skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and in a timely manner.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft programs, and some familiarity with Mac OS.
  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule while occasionally working evenings and weekends.
