Job Summary

Position Overview
Position is based out of Ashland City Tennessee.  Under the supervision of the Site Manager, provide assistance in all aspects of building and grounds maintenance at camp property.  Duties will include plumbing, mechanical, janitorial, electrical and building construction, as well as grounds maintenance and pool care.

 

Job Responsibilities

Essential Duties
    Responsible for the maintenance of buildings and grounds including the inspection, repair or replacement of any dirty, worn, or defective part of any existing building or natural resource, per instructions of the Site Manager.
    Responsible for grounds maintenance including but not limited to debris cleanup, shrub removal, area clearing, tree falling, grading roads, mowing and weed eating to maintain a visually appealing campground.
    Equestrian duties, such as feeding, moving horses between pastures, etc., may be required at times.
    Performs troop check in/out as needed by Site Manager.
    Monitors site security and emergency systems and procedures to ensure the safe usage of all facilities.
    Performs general construction, such as electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
    Cheerfully welcomes and supports guests, including assisting families, volunteers, and staff regarding camp facilities and equipment.
    Assists Site Manager in the development of annual budget for maintenance needs, utility costs and proposed capital improvements.
    Ensures that Council policies, standards and procedures are carried out in regard to the use of camp, facilities and equipment.
    Attends scheduled Council and camp staff meetings.
    Keeps supervisor informed of property activities.
    Models behavior consistent with the purpose, values, and mission of Girl Scouts of the USA and the Girl Scouts of Middle TN.
    Other tasks and duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

    High School Education or GED. Technical degree preferred
    Minimum of three years’ experience in property maintenance and/or management experience.
    Construction trade skills such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, roofing, and vehicle and equipment maintenance.
    Ability to operate and maintain vehicles, farm and mowing equipment
    Strong communication skills both oral and written.
    Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds.
    Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer.
    Organized, independent thinker and self-starter.
    Ability to pass a background check, including motor vehicle and criminal.

Physical Working Conditions:
    Ability and willingness to work an adjusted work schedule which will include some evenings and  work 1 weekend per month  August-May and all weekends during June and July.
    Wear appropriate identification and work clothing that meets both safety and Council standards.
    While performing the duties of this job, the employee may walk, sit or stand for prolonged periods of time in extreme outdoor temperatures and weather conditions.
    Must be able to work on elevated structures.
    The employee may lift, carry or otherwise move and position objects weighing up to 80 pounds.
    Current, valid Tennessee Driver’s License and evidence of State required liability insurance
