Job Summary

Catholic Charities has an opening for the position of Assistant Director of Tennessee Office of Refugees Department.  This position is full-time and located at the Catholic Pastoral Center at 2806 McGavock Pike, Nashville, TN 37214.  Hours are generally 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday but flexibility is required outside of these hours.

Job Responsibilities

The primary function of the Assistant Director includes assisting in providing statewide program direction and policy guidance. The assistant will also manage program grants to achieve outcomes and ensure compliance. He/she will also be responsible for researching and implementing best practice policies and procedures, as well as data analysis and reporting. The assistant should have good experience of developing relationships and coordination amongst stakeholders and have knowledge of grant research and writing. The assistant will supervise a staff and VISTA members as needed.  

Qualifications

Education/Experience

Master’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, or related field preferred, or bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of experience in program development, administration, and management required. Knowledge of/experience in refugee services strongly preferred.

  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office 365 and experience with database reporting systems.

  • Exercises good judgment, discretion, integrity, and professionalism.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Shows initiative and works well independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability, interest, and willingness to work with diverse staff and clients.
  • Ability to prepare reports, develop grant proposals, and work within established budgets.
