Job Summary

The Annual Giving Manager reports to the Director of Operations and Donor Relations and maintains responsibility for all annual giving fundraising activities for the Ascension Saint Thomas Foundation. The Annual Giving Manager formalizes and implements the annual giving fundraising program, including maintenance of the annual giving pipeline.

Job Responsibilities

  • Led the annual giving program and served as a frontline fundraiser, driving all annual giving fundraising activity for gifts under $25,000 and taking accountability for annual giving fundraising goals.
  • Develop and implement an annual giving plan designed to elevate current annual donors and recruit new annual donors each fiscal year.
  • Manage an active portfolio of annual donor prospects and develop identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies in line with Ascension Saint Thomas Foundation priorities.
  • Develop and manage digital and direct mail engagement and giving strategies for annual and mid-level giving donors.
  • Accountable to raise between $1.5 million – $2 million each fiscal year.
  • Proactively engage the Director of Operations and Donor Relations to develop and implement an annual giving fundraising plan and ensure annual fundraising goals are met for priority service lines and programs.
  • Coordinate with communications team leadership to develop and implement donor communications, solicitation, and stewardship strategies for the personal portfolio as well as annual prospects.
  • Utilize time, knowledge, and expertise from all Foundation leadership and team members in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Represent Ascension Saint Thomas at both internal and external functions and events and work effectively with a wide range of constituencies including staff, board members, and donors.
  • Implement tracking systems to manage and refine donor pipeline and engagement throughout the fiscal year, adhering to all business practices for reporting information in Raiser’s Edge donor database.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 6 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience is required.
  • Understanding and appreciation of Ascension Saint Thomas’s mission.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience leading, implementing, and integrating a full range of development programs, including annual giving fundraising and project-based initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience and progressive responsibility in fundraising, with a strong grasp of and commitment to best practices in all areas of development.
  • Proven track record of closing gifts.
  • Have the ability to think creatively to identify ways to implement development best practices within a unique organization and staffing structure.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Ability to creatively conceptualize and implement new projects and high-level strategies.
  • Proficiency with Google applications, especially Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets and Slides, and development databases and communications technologies. Experience with Raiser’s Edge, Constant Contact, and Classy are preferred.
