About UrbanPromise Nashville
Our mission is to show the love of Jesus to refugees by helping them heal, learn, and direct their own future for good. Our vision is three-fold: Reach a Child, Raise a Leader, Restore Community. UrbanPromise reaches younger refugee children through afterschool programs and employs high school refugees (called “StreetLeaders”) who serve as mentors and leaders of the program. Our ultimate goal is to raise up youth into leaders who are passionate about restoring their communities and advancing the Kingdom of God.
Program Director Position
UrbanPromise Nashville invites passionate leaders to apply for the part-time Program Director position. The director will organize, lead, and manage a faith-based afterschool program for 40-50 K-4th grade refugee students in South Nashville. The director position is ideal for individuals with a deep passion for equipping children with the skills necessary for academic success, social-emotional health, spiritual growth, and leadership.

Responsibilities
Program Management:
- Serve as a leader for UrbanPromise’s after school program serving refugee students.
- Oversee daily programming.
- Set meaningful individual and team goals and create plans to attain them. Oversee periodic student assessments and track and report student and program data. Use data to inform programmatic decisions.
- Follow systems to manage expenses. Ensure safety of all program participants.
- Support the recruitment, enrollment, and retention of students in UrbanPromise’s after school program.
- Help lead logistics, including program procedures, volunteer coordination, and transportation.
- Help create lessons and skits for StreetLeaders to deliver to elementary school students. The content of the lessons will primarily be focused on Biblical story and social-emotional learning.
Relationship Building:
- Work closely with the StreetLeader Director to ensure the success off StreetLeaders.
- Develop and support a strong, positive team culture amongst a diverse team of teenage StreetLeaders and other staff.
- Support students, teens, staff, volunteers, families, and school partners to actively engage in UrbanPromise programs.
- Help support an atmosphere for spiritual growth through devotions, worship, and prayer.
People Management:
- Help supervise, coach, and inspire a team of teachers and volunteers.
- Effectively delegate tasks and projects to staff.
- Assist with completing performance reviews for all StreetLeaders.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
- Youth and leadership experience
- Passion for the UPN mission and vision
- A flexible, collaborative, and creative spirit
Time Commitment
- About 20 hours per week
- September-May
- Typical Schedule: 2:00-6:00 PM Tuesday through Thursday. Other work includes planning, preperation and other duties as assigned.
