Pay Range: Starting at $17.00 per hour depending on experience

Position Summary:

Consistent with the Christian mission and vision of the YMCA of Middle TN, and in cooperation with other YMCA staff, under the direction of the ABC Program Director and Center Executive, the ABC Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the After Breast Cancer Program. S/he will assist with the development of quality programs and provide supervision and guidance to program staff to ensure all specific duties are carried out successfully.

Job Responsibilities

  • Model the YMCA core values: Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility
  • Provide administrative support in the development and implementation of the ABC program
  • Nurture relationships with collaborative partners
  • Assist in the organization of special events, monthly meetings, donor/volunteer appreciation events and other fundraising initiatives
  • Promote the ABC program to physicians, hospitals, pharmacies, breast cancer affiliated agencies, underserved populations, and within the YMCA
  • Know, understand, train, and execute all program policies, emergency procedures, and health data protocol associated with the program
  • Ensure safe and risk free environment at all times while meeting the individual needs of the participants
  • Collect, organize, and analyze data as well as prepare scheduled and special reports
  • Maintain program records and statistical information while upholding security standards
  • Plan and oversee cohort activities: scheduling, general program operations, liaison between participants and program staff, create and nurture relationships with individual participants
  • Identify and recruit volunteers
  • Assist with creating annual program budget and ensure operations are within budget; purchase necessary supplies as needed
  • Travel to any secondary program locations when asked or needed to ensure the success of program activities
  • Ensure all program schedules are completed satisfactorily in a timely manner; comply with the program schedule, arriving to work daily on time and working as a flexible team player
  • Actively take part in the Annual Giving campaign to raise monies supporting outreach and ABC
  • Support other center activities
  • Stay current on ABC issues with continuing education

Passion, enthusiasm, and commitment to the mission and cause of the YMCA

An enthusiastic personality with the ability to inspire and motivate staff, volunteers and members to create a culture of service within our Centers

Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community

  • Must present a professional image and possess conflict resolution skills, and demonstrate sound judgment and initiative
  • Must be highly organized with the ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other software programs, as well as the ability to use most office equipment is required
  • Ability to travel to multiple locations and ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends required
  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Survivor or relevant experience working with survivors preferred
