Reporting to the Director of Admissions and Enrollment Management, the Associate will assist with all aspects of the admissions process and represent Harding Academy with pride and professionalism. The Admissions Associate is an active and involved member of the Harding Academy Community. Attending and engaging regularly in school life and activities, the Associate is regularly visible on campus and highly knowledgeable about Harding’s mission, community, and curriculum. The ideal candidate is someone who naturally builds rapport with a diverse population of students and families and is passionate about early education. 

The Associate’s primary responsibility is to build relationships with families, which includes but is not limited to, responding to inquiries, informing families about the admissions process, and giving tours of campus. The Associate also administers admissions testing for applicants to Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and Grades 1-3. 

The Associate assists with all aspects of the admissions process. These aspects include but are not limited to marketing and development of communications materials, answering phones, responding to emails, scheduling appointments, planning and attending admissions events, building community relationships and partnerships, data input and reporting, interviewing, reviewing applications, serving on the admissions committee, and assisting with planning new student orientation.

 

Job Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

Educate applicant families about Harding Academy and answer their questions.

Conduct school tours.

Provide leadership for assessment and testing of all applicants to Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and Grades 1-3. Write assessment summaries and upload to the Admissions Database.

Assist with planning of student visits and shadow days.

Assist with planning and attending admissions events both on and off campus.

Assist with developing and distributing marketing materials and communications.

Assist with data input and management. 

Support families through the application process.

Review files and be an active member of the Harding Admissions Committee.

Assist with new student orientation programming 

Other duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions and Enrollment Management.

 

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES 

Participation in school committees and initiatives as directed by the Head of School

 

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

1. Bachelor’s degree required.

2. Demonstrated early childhood education experience (2 years minimum, more preferred).

3. Two or more years of work experience in admissions or closely related field is strongly preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES 

  1. Highly relational and articulate. Connects easily with children ages 3-14 and their parents.
  2. Knowledgeable about best practices and current trends in early education.
  3. Strong initiative. A problem-solver with excellent project management skills.
  4. Experience with current and emerging admissions assessment tools for preschool and elementary-aged children.
  5. Ability to collaborate with Director of Admissions & Enrollment Management on the integration of admissions and school-wide strategic goals.
  6. Passion for and experience with recruiting and supporting a culture of inclusion and diversity.
  7. Excellent communication skills (written and oral), outstanding integrity, and a team player who is eager to contribute and learn from others.
  8. Experienced with data analytics. Ability to assist with management of Admissions Database and data reporting.
