While we understand that different cultures and experiences are valuable and important for society, navigating these cultural differences can be challenging. This workshop will explore key cultural intelligence value systems along a spectrum of cultural competency scales.
Workshop participants will complete a cultural intelligence assessment prior to the workshop; facilitators will evaluate results and provide an overview of cultural intelligence in multi-cultural environments and strategies for enhancing cultural competency.
Learning Objectives:
- Examine the concept of cultural intelligence, research studies on the business case for cultural intelligence, and review pre-workshop assessments on individual cultural intelligence
- Discover multiple models of cultural intelligence that evaluate various macro cultural parameters, including political, legal, economic, religious, historical, family & kinship, language, and values
- Learn strategies for mitigating cultural bias and enhancing cultural intelligence while providing an approach to self-check on cultural intelligence
Note: This workshop can be used as an elective for all CNM Certificate programs requiring additional electives for completion.
