Community Impact Certificate

4/12/2022, 5/10/2022, & 6/7/2022

The Community Impact Certificate is designed for community leaders who are interested in amplifying the impact of their mission by mobilizing their community for system-level changes. In the three core workshops, participants will discuss the use of the collective impact framework as well as community organizing strategies and policy advocacy movements that seek to "move the needle" on complex issues.

The Community Impact Certificate also utilizes virtual coaching sessions after each of the core workshops to create greater understanding of the material shared and identify meaningful ways to integrate these concepts moving forward.

During the learning experience, participants will explore how to cause real change that improves lives as well as be a part of a problem-solving, peer network that is dedicated to connecting, sharing ideas, and creating a better future for others.

(To complete the Community Impact Certificate, complete the three core workshops plus three elective workshops. You may choose any three additional CNM workshop to fulfill your elective requirement. To sign up, register for Part 1 and it will automatically enroll you in the three core workshops.)

Part 3:  Building Your Equity Lens with Sarah Bounse (Zoom) – 6/7/2022 - (9:00 AM - 3:30 PM CST)

Incorporating an equity lens into the work of systems change is essential. One strategy can be the organization asking itself  a specific set of questions: “Is this policy/practice/program/initiative of ours equitable? If not, why and how can we make it more equitable and fairer?” This set of questions is your organization’s equity lens. In this final session, you will learn about equity and systemic inequities, what an equity lens is, and how to develop and implement your own equity lens, which can lead to systemic change in your organization and community. This workshop will include time and resources to help organizations develop their own specific equity lens for their sectors and focus areas, and participants will leave with a drafted equity lens to share with their organization. (Note:  Workshop attendees will also attend a virtual coaching session to deepen their understanding of the material in Part 3.)

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify what the basics of equity are and why they matter
  • Learn critical points in history that have led to current inequities
  • Identify strategies to embed equity into organizational practices, programs, and/or policies
  • Learn how to develop your own equity lens and how it will help reach your mission and vision
  • Explore tools for how to implement equity processes in your organization
  • Understand what barriers Nashville organizations are facing in achieving equity
