The research shows that happy and healthy employees equal happy and healthy customers and clients, so why do we pay so little attention to our own health and wellbeing? In this workshop we will review data showing why self-care is an ethical obligation for those who work in human services. Together we will discuss what self-care really means and break down the different aspects of what makes up a good self-care strategy. Everyone will be able to walk away with their own personalized self-care plan and several extra resources to further help them craft the perfect wellness plan for themselves.

1. Define what self-care is and the importance of it to our work and clients
2. Identify new and existing stress management techniques to use at home or work that help buffer against work and life stressors
3. Examine the ABCs (awareness, balance, connection) of self-care and apply them to your current practices and future strategy
4. Develop a personalized self-care strategy
